Australia - Warriena Wright, 26, dies in balcony fall, Surfers Paradise, Aug 2014 #2

Under the Queensland Criminal Code there is more than one way you can ‘commit murder’ and you do not necessarily have to intend to kill someone there are several ways you can meet the elements. Under section 4 of s302 (Murder) it states it is immaterial that the offender did not...

If he has in fact been charged with murder as opposed to manslaughter, the police must believe they can prove ‘intent’, because that is the crucial difference between manslaughter and murder under the code. BUT there is more than one way you can ‘commit murder’ and you do not necessarily have...

I have tried to catch up so sorry if I have missed something and am asking something you guys have already dealt with. I read that the police found 2 phones with the final conversation recorded on them (they found them in the basement). Where did these phones come from and how did they have...

Not overly helpful unless you know the people in the street....? Family friend Jamie Ryder, who lives three houses away, said the usually quiet suburban street would never be the same. "No one can wrap their minds around what has happened to be quite honest," he said. "They are just the...

I would not be surprised if there was no CCTV/photos (from ATM) as sometimes for whatever reason bank ATM's do not have working cameras - however I do not believe that the bank cannot tell what time the attempted withdrawals were made. just saying.....

playing devil's advocate here. yes I was going to say earlier that a drug addict wouldnt attack her face etc etc but I deleted it (before I posted) as I remembered what that bath-salts man did a few years back (ate that poor guys face). I think with some of these new drugs in particular it is...

Perhaps...if she was found in any other position rather than sitting on her lounge this may be plausible. But again, a random burglar is more likely to do whatever to immobilise the victim and leave, not slash them in the face and chest many many times (and then sit them on the lounge)...

How coincidental it is that he was seen looking into her house and she returns home soon after that. At which point he returns? Just saying.....it sounds like he was looking for her.

Has anyone made a potential/speculative time line? What information do we have? 10.30 neighbour heard scream? what time did kylie return from shopping? I also wonder if maybe 'he' visited her twice - maybe took her card and pin, went to the ATM where the pin didnt work and then returned and...

Nothing new to add really, except the more I read the less I think it was a random burglary. IF it was, and the perpetrator was the man in the hoodie seen by the tradesman, why would the perpetrator look into the house and leave and come back later when she was home? And as stated earlier, the...

Well, that is the thing, IrisRising. There are s0o many conflicting reports. WHile most say she was dead when the girls found her, there is one that says that she was dying and another saying she was clinging to life (or something like that) and that the ambulance paramedics worked on her for...

I dont really have anything much to add to what had already been said, except that i am really pleased to see some more action on this case, because it distresses me that such a horrific crime can go unsolved for so long. the thing that I find really confusing is that the type of...

GUILTY Australia - Lisa Harnum, 30, killed in 15-storey fall, Sydney, 30 July 2011 #1

I must admit when I found the pdf I wondered if they had somehow forgotten to restrict access to their articles/database as I was surprised it was accessible.

that is correct, The point (or at least what I took home) of the article was that while the details on the victim , who are usually not around to defend themselves can be discussed at great length's, details on the ALLEGED attacker are suppressed, and that the portrayal often resulted in...
