The statement in this clip about his parents not wanting to go into why he may be missing certainly suggests that they feel there's a specific reason for his disappearance. I hope he just needed a break and is safe, and that he'll soon contact his son and parents.

Yes, they use the green lights on the way to the station, as well - so not sure - I don't know the protocols for the Princeton fire department; the volunteers I know are on other volunteer departments in Ontario.

I wonder if her bf just can't bear to live there without her - and may need help from family with their child, as well - so that may be why the apartment was advertised for rent so soon. If I were the landlord, under the circumstances, I'd make every effort to find new tenants and release him...
They go to station to suit up in their equipment and go out on the trucks, I think but could be wrong. They are discouraged from bringing their own vehicles to a scene because those vehicles potentially get in the way. At least that's true for volunteer firefighters who I know, could be...
