    GUILTY Australia - Andrew, 45, Rose, 44, & Chantelle Rowe, 16, slain, Kapunda, 8 Nov 2010 #6

Here's an interesting audio link that has an interview with Rose Rowe's brother Ray, and the DPP, and attempts to explain that the sentencing decision is a legal decision and not justice! http://www.fiveaa.com.au/audio_kapunda-triple-murders-sentencing_104725

So because he's serving 35 years non-parole for each murder CONCURRENTLY, he's really only being punished for taking ONE life. So in other words, when you look at it this way, he is being jailed for murdering one family member (say Andrew) and being let off scott free for the murders of the...

Here is an interesting link to 5AA radio station segment in Adelaide re Kapunda murders. The commentator is asking a judge what will happen next, now that Jason Downie has pleaded guilty to the 3 murders. It sounds like the sentencing process will be very interesting indeed...

Interesting that he has had quite a few different lawyers as well. He now has another new one. He appears to now be using the Legal Aid Service. Apparently this latest adjournment was due to more "new evidence"....hmmm:waitasec:

Yes, the defence requested that answering the charges be delayed and the prosecutor agreed, saying that "the forensic evidence was complex and complicated". Downie was remanded in custody to appear via video-link at 11.30am on Wednesday 14th September at Elizabeth Magistrate's court. Downie had...

Yes, lets hope this doesn't drag out too long and the family gets justice. It is such a dreadful crime. At court on 2nd Feb it was agreed that Jason would re-appear on the 13th of April at 11.30 am at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court via video-link. The Magistrate then went on to say that 4 weeks...

Cbayford, how upsetting for you to have seen the cuts....that's terrible and I feel for you. Did you suspect the cuts were in relation to the murders or did you just assume they were work related or whatever? If you suspected they were in relation to the murders that must've been very traumatic..

    GUILTY Australia - Andrew, 45, Rose, 44, & Chantelle Rowe, 16, slain, Kapunda, 8 Nov 2010 #6

The lawyer representing the DPP said that 83 declarations (pieces of evidence which may include police and witness statements etc) had already been submitted and they were awaiting further declarations, including complete results of forensic evidence. It was agreed that Jason would re-appear on...

What makes you think the case will be adjourned to the adelaide court?

Hi Cyclone, yes I will be attending court tomorrow. Even if it's adjourned or delayed or whatever, it'll be interesting to see who turns up (ie family and media etc) and what the gossip is. At the first court appearance (when Downie appeared) many family and friends were there and there was...

Yes I agree...very strange indeed! I know as a mother myself I'd find it incredibly difficult to implicate my child in a tragedy such as this! As a parent I guess I'd want to believe in the good in my child...and wouldn't want to entertain the idea that they were even remotely able to commit...
