This is one of other videos which show absolutely (not confirmed) no one ever attempting to help RS at any time. How heartbreaking. No call to 911 to get him-- help?

My heart breaks for his mom. Praying for RS's mom. There are no words, and it bothers me that she sees her son like this -- alone. Suffering ... I hope she is surrounded by much love and support.

have you ever called 911 in a city about a stranger (RS was a moving target- where would 911 look)? I have and they pretty much ignored me- I called about a well dressed clean person flat on his back near a major hospital.

does anyone know how much he actually drank? his BAC could have gone up after he was seen walking...

Right!!! You typically don’t know you’ve had too much until you stand up.The floor usually doesn’t start spinning until after you get home.

I believe it did indeed go up in Riley's case. I think his friends thought he was ok to walk back to the hotel. Riley and a friend even spoke on the phone after Riley was booted out of the bar, Riley saying he was going back to the hotel.
I think his condition started to get worse when he made the wrong turn, and then progressively even worsened after that.

However, a local couple who say they just might have been the last people to see him.

James Webb and Erica Hart said they will now never forget the walk back to their car last Friday night.

It was a surveillance video that caught their eye because it was one of the last pieces of footage of missing University of Missouri student Riley Strain and they were also in the video.

“We were just walking kind of up and down Broadway, 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Avenues) just throughout the night, and we just walked down 1st, where we parked our car and during that period saw him. But didn't even know about it until she saw the headline yesterday,” said Webb.

James and Erica say they simply glanced at Riley and his behavior didn't seem unusual but said he headed north on Gay Street.

The couple contacted police and now hope by sharing this more people in the area can review their cameras.

"They've gone up and down the bank. They've done multiple sweeps. Urban search and rescue has checked several areas, including dilapidated buildings as well as storm drains," Metro Police Sgt. Robert Nielsen said during a Thursday press conference.

Nielsen said Crime Stoppers has received dozens of tips each day.

One tip police had received was that a homeless person at the encampment had seen Strain, Nielson said, noting that police are trying to find that person and talk to them.

That’s terrible that they ignored you. That person may have been trying to get themselves to the hospital for help.

I don't really understand why some people smile while relating something that involves a tragedy. I've noticed this before...eg. a neighbor talking about what they saw on the street where someone was shot, or died in a fire, a witness talking about a fatal car accident they saw, etc. I find it so inappropriate. Is it a nervous reaction or what? Bugs me so much.

Yeah, I see that and it’s definitely irksome. I’ve seen it alot in various interviews about tragedies, and it’s likely a nervous and embarrassed reaction. But it comes across badly.

Is it common for guys to get roofied? Not saying it doesn't happen but that seems rare.
My husband’s best friend and his girlfriend got roofied at a well-known bar in New Orleans. Very much seemed to be a set-up for them to be robbed on their way home to their hotel (their theory) but they realized what was happening and were able to get back safely before they got sick/passed out. They felt lucky- it came over them so quickly.

I mentioned Portland in my last post as we have numerous people always walking around that are loaded on something or the other. Not only should you not approach them, but calling 911 would amount to squat. We can’t even get legitimate emergency calls answered. We had a case a month or two ago where they had to resort to moving a person with chest pains to the hospital on a city bus, because there were no ambulances available.

But apparently, no one even did that.
Nashville is a very busy town, especially the tourists. Not uncommon to see drunk people wandering cause most of the strip is bars. People likely didn't give it a seconds thought. And tourists that may have seen something are probably long gone & not seen the news cause I don't believe its made national news or if so not much.

They were likely drunk too, so if they were responsible beings normally they wouldn't likely be at that time. They probably got back to hotel and crashed then realized he wasn't there when they got up. They may not have been in the same hotel room with him. Even if they did check his room and he didn't answer then they probably figured he was passed out.

He may very well have been intoxicated already when he got the one drink at the bar.

Chartered buses allow passengers to drink alcohol. It doesn't mean that this group, or specifically Riley, drank alcohol on the way to Nashville. What time did the Frat buys arrive in Nashville on Friday after the 6 hour ride? I suspect the guys might have had a sip or two of alcohol in their rooms before leaving for Broadway St.

Is it true today 500 students from UoM will arrive in Nashville to help aid in the search? I can't locate that news.

I guess in retrospect it’s too bad that when someone is that intoxicated that they are escorted off the premises, the bar personnel don’t have a policy of sending them back to the hotel in an Uber, charged to their party’s card.

It seems Riley headed in the opposite direction of the hotel because he was unfamiliar with the area, and in the state he was in a 5 block walk in an unfamiliar area must have been extremely confusing for him. This should be a lesson of what can happen when a person under the influence is booted out on their own.

In my past when i was younger and on trips, being even just a bit tipsy would make walking around a new city very difficult, and I would definitely get lost.

Some people (speaking for myself) sadly rely on the Maps App in new places, and the direction of the map is not necessarily the same way you are facing. It can feel tricky if your mind works differently. Maybe his map was turned around compared to the direction he started walking. This is exactly what I suspect happened in another very similar case.

I don't believe any blame should be placed on his friends. They didn't allow him to drive a vehicle or anything, and as far as they knew, he was in an area with plenty of other people around, between the bar and hotel. This was not foreseeable.
