No one would be convicted if you throw out all the evidence...lol. Actions after the crime are circumstantial evidence of consciousness of guilt. Guess what? Don't want your actions laid in front of a jury after your child dies? Don't fail to call an ambulance, go ahead and call your lawyer...

I believe that when that expert heard the evidence not provided by the defense from speaking with the prosecutors, the expert became a liability to the defense team. If your expert is going to concede evidence you didn't provide, best not to put them on the stand.

Years and years of sitting in that cell is going to feel like being trapped in that car seat. He saw Cooper... he smelled Cooper. He will have that in lonely dark hours for a lifetime. Seems more fitting a punishment to me.
