I have been lurking recently since my more active participation some time ago - I just don't feel there is anything I can add to the sleuthing at the moment. BUT! Now I am suspicious that Laytonian knows something. I'm with the others - I can't see the photo, or the "updated 4 months ago" or anything. Hmmm.....

;)

Heh. If I knew anything, I'd find a way to make money from it!

I have tried all evening to get to the photo you are speaking of but I can't. Have you tried saving the image of Steven to your computer? Then you could share it here.

What's funny, is that I posted the link to that image in the last thread -- and no one said they couldn't see it.

There's really nothing special about the image itself. It was just the "updated" thing that I wanted others to see.

I've got an email in, asking if anyone else is aware of it.

I remember being able to see stuff on Steven's page earlier, but now all that shows up is the picture of him on his profile page. That updated date probably means that somebody with access to the page set it private.

Steven's personal FB page has been private, for as long as I've been aware of it. "People who aren't friends with Steve see only some of his profile information. If you know Steve personally, send him a message or add him as a friend."

There's INFO and PHOTOS.
When I click on photos, I can click on "profile pictures" which will shows the "updated" page.
Oh well. Enough about Facebook mysteries.

HUFSK is still partly open, but you can only post on the wall.

Happy Holidays to all!
Just found out our RV and car were out of danger in the Mesquite flooding! :woohoo:

I just heard from KC.

There's still no word on the Provo area sightings.

"We actually had a third sighting in Taylorsville. Luckily, the tipster, a police officer no less, was able to provide pictures and Deanne said it positively wasn't him.
That's one of the very first tips we've been able to confirm or deny. Sad isn't it? They're still working on the provo tips. I haven't heard any word."

I'm not going to bug her anymore, unless there's news, until after the Holidays. I sent greetings.

would someone be so kind as to let me know where there are new facts posted here?

I've been spending more time trying to identify the deceased in the Unidentified forum and one or two hypersensitive people on this thread are spoiling the discussion.

and let's see how long it takes for a hypersensitive person to complain about this post, even though I have not named anyone at all.

Nothing new that I know of except something on SK's FB page; but since it's private....were not suppose to discuss it here.

ETA: There's always the ignore button for those distractions.

Ah. When I go to SK's FB page I don't have the option to see photos, I only have the info tab.

Meh. This is so depressing. Although good news about your vehicles not getting caught in the flood, Laytonian!

May I ask, where is Taylorsville?

Entirely strange, because I'm not one of Steven's "friends". It must be, because I'm a friend-of-a-friend. We have one in common.

Thanks.
It's been kinda nerve-wracking, being 375 miles away while it all went on.

Have any of the locals heard ANYTHING on this girl found dead SW of the Executive Airport on Dec 7th? It's like it's taboo to report it!!?? Burned car. Off the Sloan Exit? of I-15. She had a Criminal Justice degree. TIA

Carson graduated from Rowland Unified's Nogales High School in 2003 and went on to major in criminal justice at Cal State Fullerton, where she graduated in 2008, Aragon said.

Carson, who played volleyball and basketball in high school, had previously worked with at-risk juveniles, Aragon said.

I didn't even realize these two cases were the same one case! Local media is sometimes tragically remiss in following-up on these stories.

I find it interesting they won't say what type of work she was doing here, but I can guess. Hundreds, if not thousands, of young women from all over the country come to Vegas every weekend to dance or "escort" - particularly over high-volume weekends. They can make a LOT of money in the higher-end strip clubs. There are many girls who finance their educations this way. Yes, they may be putting themselves through law school or med school, and this is how they pay for it.

I don't see Steven seeking that same type of employment. Definitely not the same market or earning potential for guys.....

If you google her name and home town, a bunch of stuff turns up.

Is there a link between that case and this one? If no, let's stay on topic.

There's been considerable speculation that Steven went to Las Vegas seeking temporary employment, and met with foul play, so there might be a connection.

The body found at Sloan & I-15 was discovered Nov 7th, not Dec 7th. We discussed it, and here's a news story about it: 8newsnow.com.

Locally, burned bodies in cars have been suicides OR as a result of drug crimes.

Since Steven disappeared away from his car, and this case is a female, I fail to see why it was brought up here at all.

She was found not that far from where SK was last seen and they also did a search very close to this airport for Steven. He may have been looking for temporary work also. Just because it's a female, doesn't necessarily mean it could not be connected. Some nutballs aren't choosy.

I'll do some checking to see if there any other similarities. There was nothing really "out there" for her in the LV area. I check on Carbuff's info.

I didn't bring it up! And I have never seen where the body in the burned car at I-15 and Sloan was ever ID'd. Yet it was "breaking news" when we first heard about it and discussed it here. I've never heard another peep about it.

For those who believe Steven was the victim of a crime, we need to look at other victims, locally. Over the past year, I don't believe we've seen anything that would suggest a pattern. That's one of the reasons I don't believe Steven was the victim of a crime.

The CA girl that was found here was located fairly close to the April search site for Steven. Again, I have never heard another word about it.
