These guys may be linked to the missing Santa Ana women and the gal murdered in Anaheim. I decided to make a new thread:

Not that I doubt the report... Just that I may have missed the information...

From what I can gather, these two met as registered sex offenders and cut off their ankle bracelets and fled the state. They were rearrested and had to give DNA samples (although shouldn't that's have been done already?)

I think their DNA was found on Estepp's body and someone may have confessed.
Presser is today at 4 I think.

This case hits close to home. I live in Anaheim and am from and was raised in Santa Ana where my mom still lives.

This hits close to home for me, as well...

We have lived either close by or in Santa Ana for many years...

And are often in the city and neighboring cities for various reasons...

(O/T.... But my DD just graduated from a college in Santa Ana in January! :rocker:

ETA... In fact the college is located on First Street... Not far from where one of the perps was arrested...

)

ETA: Interesting comment on the police FB page, re where they may live, considering media's reporting the men as transients.

Just watched the presser on ABC7. The suspects will be arraigned tomorrow on four counts of rape and murder. Possible that DA will seek the death penalty. Didn't get to hear all of the presser as KABC7 switched over to another news story.

2 sex offenders charged with rapes, killings

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Two registered sex offenders who have known each other since at least 2012 were charged Monday with raping and killing four California women since last year, authorities said.

Franc Cano, 27, and Steven Dean Gordon, 45, were each charged with four felony counts of special circumstances murder and four felony counts of rape, the Orange County district attorney's office said.

If convicted, the men could face a minimum sentence of life without parole or the death penalty. They were being held without bail and expected to be arraigned Tuesday.

Both men were arrested Saturday for investigation of killing the women beginning in October. Police believe there could be more victims and the department has contacted other places with missing persons cases across the country, said Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn.

They keep quoting AnayA's mom as saying they found her body. I think it's clear someone talked.

Sick human beings. I felt so bad for these women and their families and I'm sure glad to see the police haven't dropped the ball.

Update 4:42 p.m.

Police investigators say two suspects in the murders of four women in Orange County were wearing GPS anklets at the time of the crimes.

Anaheim and Santa Ana police linked suspects Franc Cano and Steven Dean Gordon to the disappearances of the four women because they were wearing GPS anklets.

Using data from the anklets, police determined the suspects were in the vicinity where the four women where last seen.

Anaheim Police Chief Raul Quezada said the GPS devices were attached to the suspects during the commission of the alleged murders.

He said there may be more victims.

"Based on the evidence collected, based on information we have, we are confident there's one additional victim and possibly more," said Quezada.

Isn't there a young woman who was supposed to get a train down to San Diego who just vanished? I can't recall her name, but I think she's still missing. I wonder how many more from here are victims of these 2.

And they were in Vegas for a while, too.

I think it is interesting that these guys were in Vegas in April 2012 and that one of their victims, Kianna Jackson, was from Vegas and disappeared in California in October 2013. Made me wonder if they met her in Vegas and she followed them west. If so, this could have happened to any number of women from around the country. All of the victims were younger women and all had history of prostitution. I bet there were others with similar profiles who disappeared since April 2012

No. Nothing. But the mother of Marta Anaya is quoted as talking about finding her body. Specifically about finding her but she never thought it would be her body.
