That occurred to me, as well. It wouldn't surprise me.Does anyone think he staged this?
All these calls to me seem he is doing this on purpose.
Just a thought!
"He was spending time with some friends that he hadn’t seen in a long time, and when I spoke with him they were getting ready to leave," McCabe's wife, Kareen McCabe, told KARE.
Kareen McCabe said she received a call from Henry's phone at 2:23 a.m. that Monday, but it seemed that he had accidentally dialed her number...Attempts to call him back went straight to Henry's voice mail. And then he that stopped working.
The last time Kareen talked to her husband was at 2:20 a.m. on Labor Day.She said the middle-of-the-night phone call was unusual and alarming.
"I think he was hurt because he made a sound, almost like a cry.
"Another reason to believe it's suspicious circumstances is because there are conflicting stories on where he was dropped off," David Singleton, with Minnesota Community Policing Services, said.
McCabe’s wife, Kareen, was in California preparing for the family’s move there when she received a call from his cell phone early Sept. 7, said family spokesman David Singleton.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from that morning to see if they can learn anything. On Saturday, McCabe's wife told KARE 11 there was no sign of her husband on the video.
"That is the mystery in the whole story because the person (that he left with) said that he offered to take (McCabe) home and he said he wanted to be dropped off at this filling station," (CJ) said. "I don't know if he was meeting somewhere here or what. I last saw him around 1:40 a.m."
"I know that he was walking, from the (phone) call; I could hear him walking," Kareen said. "The last call I had with him it sounded like he cried out like he was hurt and then the phone hung up."
“Henry said ‘Don't worry just drop me to the gas station’,” Calvin Johnson, McCabe’s friend, said. “[The acquaintance] said, ‘Why would I do that?’ And Henry said ‘Brother just drop me to the gas station I'm going to be fine, this whole area is my area’.”
(KM) called McCabe around 2:23 a.m. on Sept. 7 to check in, well after he had left the nightclub, according to McCabe’s friends.
“He was like ‘let me call you back’,” then a few minutes later his phone pocket dialed me and I could hear him speaking, it sounded as though he was speaking to someone but they weren't responding,” McCabe’s wife said.
Kareen said she received several more pocket dials from McCabe.
“A few pocket dials later the last call I had with him he cried out as though he were hurt and then the phone hung up,” Kareen said.
Mounds View police, who are investigating, say they haven’t found any significant new leads. Chief Tom Kinney said Friday that he understands people are frustrated, but he said his department is actively investigating with assistance from the FBI.
Mounds View police say they have requested financial and other documents link to McCabe...Investigators with Mounds View Police say they are "actively" pursuing the case. Police say this is not a criminal case and they don't have any suspects.
Kennedy alleges prior to September 6, he and McCabe never hung out. Kennedy alleges McCabe knew about him "from back home" in Liberia. Prior to moving to Minnesota, Kennedy said he was a well-known basketball player in Liberia. Kennedy may have been the last person to see McCabe.
"I wish I had never given him a ride with all that is going on. I wish I never did," Kennedy said. "We were not friends, more like acquaintances."
There are two minutes of bizarre noises, including growls and moans. There's very little actual talking.
Authorities confirm the middle-of-the-night call came from McCabe's cell phone.
KARE 11 asked Chief Kinney if the surveillance video from the gas station showed the alleged drop off. His response: "We have not been able to locate or verify that yet."

2nd - If he told his wife, during the first call, that he would call her back, it makes sense that she would pick up again - not knowing it would be a pocket dial. Then she answered a couple more pocket dials, one that cuts off with his scream. How did she get the voice mail from him? Why, after all that, would you let another call from him go to voice mail? I would be freaking out, screaming, and asking for more information.
You are absolutely correct! I edited my post so it actually made sense (just spent the day with my daughter who gave birth to her first child this evening - brain almost functioning). If he hasn't been identified, how do they know he's 32?
Maybe it should be identity hasn't been confirmed?

But I thought it read that way (not identified ) in the article? You are absolutely correct! I edited my post so it actually made sense (just spent the day with my daughter who gave birth to her first child this evening - brain almost functioning).
They say the suspect was known to the victim, a 32-year-old male who has not yet been identified, and police are not seeking additional suspects - from above linked Kare11 articleBut I thought it read that way (not identified ) in the article?
Congratulations!

I'm still mystified. If someone attacked H as he walked - perhaps robbery - IMO the robber would not bother to conceal a body. A robber would just run. If someone (gang related) attacked just for fun, it would also seem attackers would leave a body. People who conceal a body tend to have a relationship to the person and don't want to be implicated.
Snipped by me. . .
Maybe she was trying to call him when he called her, and his call went to voicemail? That has happened to me many times when I've missed a call and tried to call the person back right away.
It just doesn't seem likely to voluntarily disappear at 2:30am with no prior evidence of planning.
