The manhunt for Mayes has the town of Alpine very concerned.

"So I tell you, it's been scary, scary. For my kids and me, everybody's been scared. It's just awful," said resident Sarah Stinson.

"We're trying to keep our kids locked in the house, trying to keep 'em from going outside because it's just been a real shocker to that kind of neighborhood to have nothing like that to ever go on like that," said Heather Jones, who lives in Alpine.

The sheriff said Mayes may or may not still be in the area.

I don't think we will see one positive outcome from this case.

I dont either!
I keep thinking of the family in the hollow tree!
Remember them!
He didnt kill the 13 yr old girl!

http://www.ktla.com/news/landing/ktla-missing-ohio-family,0,2796544.story

The victims disappeared Nov. 10 along with Herrmann's daughter, 13-year-old Sarah Maynard, who was found bound and gagged several days later in the basement of an unemployed tree-cutter, Matthew Hoffman. Hoffman is accused of kidnapping the girl and keeping her in the basement of his home in Mount Vernon, about 10 miles west of Howard in central Ohio.

I thought this was just one of the most horrible sinister things i have ever read.

Now we have this!

This just makes me so mad that he had to murder Jo Ann and Adrienne.
Why? For what reason?

They were in his way!
He had his eye on the prize!
Im also sure they fought him!

This is what I don't understand, why not just take the younger girls that night? He buried JB and Adrienne on his property the most obvious place for police to look.

I have the same thought and feel very sad, just don't see anyone coming home alive, and I think he will kill himself too. He seems to be a narcissistic personality disorder, those types are the most damaged. And they control others around them.

I just have this very bad feeling this man has killed before. I imagine they'll look at any residence he's lived.

yea, I assumed all of those, I guess I was just talking out loud because it's so senseless.

Just makes me so angry some of these perps with no conscience.

I think this guy thought they were going to be one big happy family!
Then JB started to fight!
This was not in her plans i think she tried to get her girls out and the two that was a threat to him he did away with!
He can controll the two young ones!

I remember the Hoffman case very well, as I live in Apple Valley, where the murders took place.

However, let's all remember that Hoffman was not a friend of the family, or even knew the family. So comparing the two, I'm not sure how well we can do that because the relationship dynamics of the cases are so different. This time we have a trusted family friend.... Is one worse than the other? Having four daughters, I constantly worry about their safety. So much so, that I don't even want to allow them to play alone in my backyard! I caught my six year old talking to the neighbor. I'm sure they're nice people, but I don't know them so I pulled her inside quickly (we just moved here less than 6 months ago... and the neighbors keep to themselves). Maybe it offended him, but you just never know about people... no matter how nice and charming they seem.

And I agree, I don't see a positive outcome from this case. When i first started following it, I wanted to believe the mother purposely ran off with AM. It was a punch to the chest when I heard the news she and Adrienne had been murdered. :(

Has anyone researched the name paco rodriguesss!

He uses it for a reason!
Was it a name in a movie?

Also I think this guy has a record!

I found Paco Rodriguez a slain boxer that donated his organs!

These days as the world gets meaner, you never know.
I do the same thing.
You did the right thing pulling ur daughter aside, don't worry bout it, she's ur first priority in life.

He sold his things, but money only gets you so far, gas, food, he has to sleep also, at some point the girls might be able to get away.

IM not comparing them i just remembered them! Reading this case i got that same sick feeling!

Oh definitely. Any case involving children gets me thinking about the Hoffman case. The other case this reminded me of was Aliahna Lemmon.

Just seeing the news that mom and daughter were found dead. I figured that would be the outcome when I heard those bodies were found on AM's parents' property. So sad. Where is he?? Where are the girls?? I hope he at least spares their lives, though I doubt it. I can see this guy trying to go out in a blaze of glory. He isn't going to give up easily. JMO and all that jazz.

Portebella.
Responding to closed thread. Re: 1am. I read in one of the news accounts of the night before they disappeared and the last time dad spoke to mom was around 1 am and he went to bed. No way can I remeber which one or link right this minute. So I'll say if iirc & moo
