It's taken me a while to catch up to speed after I heard the news of Samantha being found. Although I was fairly certain this would be the outcome, it's devastating and heartbreaking all the same. Fly with the angels Samantha! You deserved so much more!!!!

"Ex parte" simply means that something happened outside of the courtroom; it did not require a hearing with both parties present.

Also the arrest warrant was filed. It was received on the 13th and he was arrested on the 13th, so if they had any clue what was up before then they didn't issue a warrant.

I also sat here in disbelief,when I read "found deceased" after Samantha's name,this is spite of the fact that it I am a full month late in hearing of her fate. :(

I am afraid Sam's situation fell off my radar, and, I totally missed this terrible news.

I am thankful that she has been recovered and laid to rest.

I feel very sorry for her father, whose heart is surely broken, and will likely never mend.

I am also sorry for all the barristas and the people of Anchorage, who have surely lost something also in this tragedy.

I have a question...I remember the police saying they located Sam's body because of a map that was marked. They also stated there were several other maps or areas marked on the same/other maps. Do we know if they found other victims or if they searched for other victims? Do we know if the "marks" were only on an Alaska map? Thanks!
 
odd isn't it, that JK has a brand new 2012 F-150 harley edition pick up truck?
A truck that MSRP is around $60,000 for.

I find it odd that 4 months ago, the man didn't have a pot to pee in,didn't work for at least 3 months and now, he has a $60,000 truck. i would assume that it was a cash deal, as if one hasn't worked for 3 months, and was a shuttle driver, he wouldn't qualify for a 60k vehicle loan.

IMO, this speaks to character.
 
Interesting... Consoling one another in a strip joint, fueling one another with alcohol, threatening somebody with a gun that was concerned enough about his well being by wanting to call a cab? Pitiful. Flat out pitiful...

James Koenig, the father of slain barista Samantha Koenig, was arrested early Tuesday morning on charges including assault and DUI after he allegedly left an Anchorage strip club and drove drunk, threatening an employee who tried to stop him.

"When Amrine told the man that he would call him a cab, the man said, 'Get back from my door or meet my 1911,'" prosecutors wrote. The number was an apparent reference to the 1911 family of .45-caliber pistols, based on the Colt M1911 but currently made by several manufacturers. "The man then reached into the truck's center console. Amrine was afraid he would be shot and stepped back."

Other Bush Co. employees identified Koenig to Amrine, who informed APD about the confrontation at about 3 a.m. Police then tracked Koenig down at his residence, where he said he and Reeves had been drinking at the Bush Co. He denied threatening Amrine with a weapon and invited officers to search his vehicle, where they found a Ruger 1911-style pistol in the center console.

Anybody have any updates on Keyes? Could James have done this on purpose to get close to Keyes? Probably off base here but something that crossed my mind...

On the other hand, Mr Koenig stated he couldn't work while trying to find Sam, he didn't have any money so some donation money was used to pay bills - now he has a brand new p/up truck & has money for strippers/booze? Imm all for cutting him some slack but this is too much to grant a free pass. Wth did the stripper, booze & vehicle money come from?
 
I'm trying to have a bit of compassion for JK, as you said JG, he needs divine revelation.
 
So...did he end up with the reward/ransom money? :confused:

This whole situation has been weird from the get go. JMO
