Deputies say they recently received a report of a missing person who has been identified as 37-year-old John Wesley Johnson, of Moulton. According to an LCSO Facebook post, Johnson was last seen in July near County Road 294.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Norwood said a man discovered a skull on the east side of Highway 101. After the discovery, law enforcement performed a meticulous search to find any other remains.
Lawrence County deputies have been searching for two missing men for years. John Johnson disappeared in 2021, and Steven White disappeared in 2017.
The sheriff’s office said it’s unknown whether the remains could belong to either man.
