65-year-old Judy Jackson Kennebrew may be suffering from a condition that may impair her judgment.

Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office searching for missing 65-year-old

How to Identify Kennebrew:
  • Marks: She has a small scar on the bridge of her nose
    • a square scar on her upper right thigh
    • a burn/skin graft on top of her right hand
  • Last seen outfit: She was wearing gray or black dress slacks
  • Race: Black
  • Eye color: Brown
  • Hair color: Black
  • Height: 5’3″
  • Weight: 170lbs
  • Age: 65
  • Last Location: Kennedbrew was last seen in the area of Jackson Lane in Tallassee, Alabama, around 6 p.m. on Jan. 8

Family Searching Tallassee Wooded Area for Missing 65-Year-Old Woman - Alabama News
Family and law enforcement officers are searching a heavily wooded area in Tallassee for a missing 65-year-old woman.

Alabama News Network Reporter Justin Walker, was out walking the wooded area with the family of Kennebrew on Wednesday. A potato chip bag found in the area two days prior is believed to be hers, but there was no signs of Kennebrew.

K9 Search and Rescue Groups will be joining in the search tomorrow, Jan 17th @ 9:00 am at Wall Street Senior Center, 415 Wall Street, Tallassee, Al. Volunteers are welcome (see link for more details)

Circumstances behind Judy's disappearance:

• She left on foot, after a family member or friend told her not to go into the woods because it is hunting season.
• It is assumed that her dog left walking with her because he has been missing since she left.
• No phone
• No car
• She has not had her medications since before Jan 8th. Her judgment is most definitely impaired.
• She has disappeared once before but only for a day. She walked to Tuskegee from Tallassee.
• Her daughter believes she is lost and confused in the nearby woods.
• According to her daughter, Judy is stubborn and determined.

Search continues for missing Tallapoosa County woman

“You’re not able to sleep or do the things you normally do because someone’s missing,” said Kennebrew’s cousin, WS.

It has been a difficult time for the family, but search efforts are happening almost daily.

“We did some air search yesterday with ALEA and we’ll do that again [Friday] with our rescue squad and some more volunteers,” said Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett.

“We’ll be meeting [Friday] at 9 in the morning at the Wall Street Nutrition Center on Wall Street. We welcome those people who want to come and join in on the search,” said Abbett.

Teams were again searching by land and air Friday morning looking for Judy Kennebrew who was last seen around 6 p.m. Jan. 8 in the area of Jackson Lane in Tallassee.

“We are going to grid the area off and do a sweeping walk through in these areas,” Moran said. “We think they will get better coverage on foot.”

“We started at the house where she was last seen Wednesday morning around 8 or 9 o’clock that morning,” Abbett said. “We have maps and grid areas that we they are actively searching. So that we know it has been covered. We organized this morning with some of the Alex City Rescue Squad and some of the local people here. We are conducting this search in an organized manner in a grid section."

While actively searching for Kennebrew, the ALEA helicopter is using video technology to search for Kennebrew.

“They will fly over this area, and they will take video,” Abbett said. “They will be able to go back and view that video to see if they see anything.”
