There has been a major breakthrough in the suspicious disappearance of Allison Bernard more than a decade after the young mother went missing on a night out in Cape York.
Detectives have charged a 62-year-old Cohen man with one count of murder, Queensland Police announced on Wednesday.
The arrest comes less than a year after a $500,000 reward was offered for information that helps solve the missing person cold case.
The 23-year-old was on a road trip in central Cape York - about seven hours north-east of her hometown of Kowanyama - when she vanished on February 10, 2013.
