Germany Arian Arnold, 6, vanished whilst playing in the garden, Elm Northern Germany, 22 April 2024

Here some photos of the search, not all from today.

At photo 22 according to a report from media N-TV Arian's footprints were found during Wed/Thurs. night, where particularly his toe prints were clear. The footprints are following the River Oste, going north. Also, dogs are reported to have picked up a scent (it sounds like near the footprints).

At photo 24 they mention divers searched a pond or some such small body of water but nothing new discovered.

Edited with some new information.

Missing Arian is “probably not afraid of the dark”

As of: April 29, 2024 9:41 a.m

The six-year-old perceives things differently because of his autism, said occupational therapist Jutta Berthold to NDR Lower Saxony. She works for the Lebenshilfe Bremervörde/Zeven autism outpatient clinic and advises the emergency services on the search for Arian. The six-year-old will probably not have the fears that non-autistic people of the same age feel, said Berthold. These include fear of the dark, the forest or scenarios about what could happen. "This conserves the resources it has, meaning it doesn't use up any energy that would be valuable for survival outside," said Berthold.

Can't link my Google translation, sorry.

TV 10pm:
The big search operation is now being stopped.
Investigators will only follow up on new leads that come in.
The boy was not found.

It seems like they should continue searching the river and shores, at least smaller teams, but I am not a river-searching expert. This could be another case where a child just got further than assumed possible- either on foot or (sorry to say) carried by a river.

"An acquaintance of the family, who had repeatedly posted messages from Arian's parents on Facebook in recent days, has now called on [private] volunteers to stop their search... The concern: Search parties roaming through the region could drive the boy even deeper into hiding, as Arian, who is autistic, is considered to be extremely shy of people...."

Also some volunteers have become injured while searching.

5 LE investigators are "currently evaluating clues and traces and is trying to put forward hypotheses...Arian may have fallen into the Oste river, said the spokesman. The flow rate is high..."

Missing Arian: Police talk about potentially tragic North Sea theory

Was standing:May 10, 2024, 4:57 a.m

Google translation, excerpt:
The starting point of the investigation is the recording from a surveillance camera that shows Arian after leaving his parents' home in Bremervörde -Elm. The autistic boy was walking into a forest area in a sweater and socks. One theory from investigators is that Arian fell into the Oste River , which was searched over a length of over twelve kilometers. Footprints leading along the river were also discovered. According to the investigators, these could have come from Arian. If the scenario played out like this, he could even have been driven into the North Sea.
As investigators explained on May 1st, the flow speed of the Oste had recently been very high. In addition, the Ostesperrwerk is open, which is why the boy could have drifted away unhindered. It is only 45 kilometers to the Elbe and thus to the North Sea. As police spokesman Heiner van der Werp recently estimated, a piece of wood would have drifted out to sea within ten hours.
