Australia Australia - Siriyakorn 'Bung' Siriboon, 13, Boronia, Vic, 2 June 2011

I don't know how much this will help, but I wanted to put up a visual of Bung's last known movements. Also highlighted is the location of her school.

I have highlighted in pink the roads that witnesses saw Bung walking along on Thursday June 2nd.

She was last seen walking along Chandler Rd at 3.20 pm towards Dorset Rd.
This to me raises the possibility that she may have been heading to Boronia Central shopping center, Metro cinema, or Boronia train station (pointer A).
These three places are hives of activity and would have surveillance cameras recording at all times.

But so far there has been no report of her being spotted in any surveillance footage.

That's about as far as I got. At this stage this is a pretty big dead end. I'm at a loss and scared. I can't imagine how those closest to Bung must be feeling.

THE family of a missing teenager refuse to accept she is the victim of foul play.

It is eight days since the mystery disappearance of 13-year-old Siriyakorn "Bung" Siriboon, who was last seen on her way to classes at Boronia Heights College.

Stepfather Fred Pattison said the family's strong Buddhist faith was being tested, but they could not give up hope.

"When you lose them (your beliefs), you're no good to anyone," Mr Pattison said.

Mr Pattison, Siriyakorn's mother Vanidda and sister Siriporn have spent days delivering flyers, walking the streets and knocking on doors looking for clues.

Mr Pattison said they were keeping at bay the awful prospect that harm had come to Siriyakorn.

"We can't go down that track yet. If we think like that, we become useless," he explained.

BADDIES beware – Boronia Police are watching you.

11 Nov 08 @ 01:52pm

Two cameras beaming live footage from Boronia train station to the Boronia police watch house have been in place for over a month, with officers already giving out fines from the footage.

...

The two cameras, positioned at the bus depot and looking down onto the platforms, provide a 360 degree view of the area.

The footage is streamed into the police station, where officers keep a 24-hour watch.

I found this article which all but rules out Bung catching a train or bus from Boronia station, as she would have been seen in the surveillance footage. Also, Melbourne trains have CCTV cameras in every carriage.

This leads me back to Chandler, where she was last seen walking towards Dorset at approx 3.20 pm. That's school leaving time.
Bung didn't go to school that day, but what if she hoped to catch up with friends who did?
Possibly at the mall, near the corner of Chandler and Dorset?

Couple of thoughts after reading : is it possible that the sighting at 3:30pm was in fact another girl ? Someone who looked like the missing girl, someone who was actually leaving school after classes ended ?

Also, the first article stated that she walked the exact same route each morning. Presumably at the same time.Hate to say it, but it is possible that she was noticed, that her routine was noticed.... It could mean that she had been approached earlier by someone who "befriended " her, and persuaded her to go with him/her/ Or she could have been abducted...

Hope she comes home soon...

Friday, 03 June 2011 18:33

Victoria Police hold concerns for a 13-year-old girl who has been missing for more than 24 hours.

Siriyakorn Siriboon was last seen by her parents leaving for school about 8am yesterday.

Boronia police have been told that the girl, nicknamed ‘Bung’, didn’t turn up for school.

Forgivemenot,
She looks very different in this photo, MOO. Is it known where her 20 year old sister is ? Does she live at home ? Also, is there a Thai community anywhere in the area ? How likely is it that she had made friends with someone who spoke Thai ? Just some thoughts...

Thanks Krista, that's encouraging news. Fingers /toes /eyes crossed that these leads point to someone who has been taking care of her these past 9 days.

And thank you Liz B. for your suggestions. I hadn't considered the Thai angle before. I believe there is a significant Thai community in the Knox City area, from what I know of specialty grocers, restaurants, temples etc.

According to this article, other significant populations are also in Greater Dandenong and Boroondara.

So she maybe knows some Thai people locally and maybe on social networking sites, which they say she has recently started to use.

I wonder if detectives can access her Facebook or Twitter (eg.) to see who she has been speaking to? I know that's generally considered an invasion of privacy, but she is endangered, so would it be appropriate?

Bung's sister lives in Australia too but it doesn't say if she lives with her Mum and Dad.

I agree that photo doesn't look like her. She looks paler there. I have attached some more for comparison. Sorry about the quality, they are screen caps.

Yes I think the 3.20pm sighting could be a red herring IMO too.

I actually ran away when I was 13 after a fight with my Mum. I had no shoes and socks on and was wearing just my school dress. I ran to the park up the road and hid in the playground and cried and cried. After a few hours I went home and there were two policemen sitting in the lounge. They asked if I had been to McDonalds, and I said no I hadn't. They said, really? Because a witness saw you there.
So that's my story of how girls in school dresses can look alike to the casual observer.
Just FWIW
