The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says it's on day five of searching for a missing hiker in Prescott, whose car was found abandoned. Oct. 5 marked the fifth day of search and rescue units looking for 63-year-old Jeffrey Gordon Stambaugh.

UPDATE 07/12/2023: HOMICIDE VICTIM IDENTIFIED- YUCCA
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, with the assistance of Othram Inc., have positively identified human remains located in Yucca in December 2022. Using advanced DNA testing and Forensic-Grade Genome Sequencing, Othram Inc. was able to identify the remains as belonging to Brandon Ray Parlanti, 50 of Kingman.
The deceased was located on December 4, 2022, when Deputies responded to a call of human remains located in a remote desert area in Yucca near Alamo Rd. and Boriana Mine Rd. The remains were found amongst a large pile of debris wrapped in a tarp. The remains were transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office, who were unable to positively identify the victim. On February 21, 2023, Detectives with our Special Investigations Unit (SIU) contacted Othram Inc. and requested their assistance. A sample from the remains was submitted to them to conduct a genetic genealogy investigation, resulting in the positive identification.

Bryan Keith Gibson, 52, of Yucca, Arizona, faces charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and the abandonment of a body, according to MCSO. Gibson is incarcerated at an adult detention facility for unrelated charges.
