Someone posted this link in another thread of where they lived in Perris and it is really enlightening as you see the place was really decked out with all the top end finishes of a model home. You can go from each room to each room ----

Thank goodness the house in Perris was a single story house. I think she probably had to scale a wall or a fence to get out once she made it outside as well because surely the Turpins locked the gate. If the brave 17 year old girl would have tried to escape from the Murrieta house, assuming she was locked in one of the bedrooms upstairs, she would have had to figure out a way to climb or jump down from a second story. Thank goodness she escaped when she did. If she had waited a day or two, it may have been too late.

Oh, escaping from a two story home? No problem, IME, just tie your bed sheets and blankets together, tie around the window frame center and scale down the side of the house. Easy peasy.

I believe that's a LE van. Note the color white and the dividers between the side windows. The silver van doesn't have any dividers, just one long side window. Furthermore, the family van would be evidence. jmo
One of the neighbors stated that it was the family van. He may have been mistaken.

I also doubt the girls could have successfully had a pregnancy with how malnourished and thin they are.

True, but that is based on the premise that girl survivors of child bearing age were continuously starved versus being “selectively” deprived of nutrition.

We already know that the oldest boy had attended college, etc. These “parents” have shown that there were differences in how the survivors were treated.

I don't put anything past these two. I will be surprised if the last baby is hers.

They apparently saw nothing wrong with sending him out in public with the same filthy clothes.

From personal experience I can tell you that this is common within abusive families. Each parent may have 'favorites'
and they may not always agree w/ punishment of each child. So parents even argue about how to punish different
children. Lots of dissension within the family.

Right, trying to make sense of these dichotomies has my head spinning.

West of OKC is one of the current hot O&G areas. Cana-Woodford, SCOOP, STACK are all prolific Anadarko Basin plays and the operators are keeping steady busy in that area. I am guessing that the potential for royalty checks may have been a factor in that particular destination. Dunno.

If there is any land for sale in this area, it would be very unusual for the seller to include the mineral rights with the land. The new buyers wouldn't be getting any royalties. My husband's family has lived north of there for many generations, and he has also worked in the oilfield there.

They were all equally starved though. If she let him take classes, somehow it was for her benefit, not his.

But if she was again starved for the past almost three years, there would be muscle wasting observed on her by now.

The hair looks the same cut and reddish color as the 2013 renewal video. She looked overweight in that video, not pregnant. She turned 45 in 2013; she will be 50 in May 2018 and she certainly looked overweight at the arraignment.
Taco bell every day will do that.

More video from Yahoo on the rescue: (Sorry if posted before.)

Also alleges that parents were planning to move to Oklahoma within days:

Satch

About the 1:05 mark they show the college boy's transcript, "a near perfect GPA". I wonder if that was one more thing to post on FB and/or boast to the folks back home about? (And/or take credit for due to their 'homeschooling' him.) If LT escorted him to class hungry & wearing the same smelly clothing while she waited outside the classroom, it seems they didn't care much about appearances to locals.

I watched that Model Home tour video. The "great room" is quite large, and at the back of the house.....you can see the patio furniture out the window. Reports showed that the window at the FRONT of the house, had the screen cut. I think that that room may have been a bedroom or used as a bedroom, from which #8 escaped. If so, she didn't have to jump a fence.....just get out fast and run down the street. (my guess is that the room was locked....and maybe farthest away from monsters). Originally I thought that window was to the living room and was amazed that no one saw the cut out screen.....but then I realized that the living room is at the back of the house. JMO

disgruntled, I want to thank you for sharing your awful traumatic experience. Your words are hard to read, and maybe even harder to truky comprehend how anyone can do this to children (actualky, to any other living being). But it is so helpful for me to understand how quickly a body can deteriorate, and to know there can be healing. I hope you will one day be able to get past the worst of the scars you must carry. Thanks again, brave heart.

Sending a wave to A2FMNST! howdy, neighbor —- I am just south of you via US-23. It;s a small world, some days.

Remembering it is said that the torture was escalating and the oldest daughter is 29 so has been of child bearing age for quite some time. Not suggesting there was sexual abuse just saying we can't assume from photos in 2011 or 2015 what all they endured over so many years.

I’m wondering if any posters have a medical background in child development.

I have something that is bothering me. When my daughter was born, primary importance was placed on feeding her constantly in those first weeks of life (doubling weight being the goal). To the degree that the visiting nurses and lactation consultants directed us to wake her up for feedings regardless of whether she wanted to sleep through them or not. My husband and I, as new parents, were inclined to just let her sleep. “Don’t wake a sleeping infant” and other colloquialisms filled our heads. Heeding the advice of the medical professionals, we were torn, and reached out to our doctor for more specific guidance. The answer we received was, “Yes, wake the baby up to feed at this early stage”. Hubby and I told the doctor that she would refuse to wake up for feeding time when we talked to her or ran the vacuum to wake her up. The doc suggested we use an ice cube applied to her foot for a few seconds to rouse her. I was flabbergasted by this suggestion and made him repeat it to me. I tried it once but couldn’t bring myself to try it again. We eventually found the noise of our small dogs barking did the trick. Our daughter is 7 now and healthy as can be!

Sorry, long way around the barn...

So knowing that the 2 yo survivor was well fed has me puzzled. I also know that if you feed a newborn nothing but water it can actually kill them, whereas a starving ADULT can survive on water only (in lieu of food) for a longer duration.

We’re all the survivors fed well as newborns during those critical first weeks? What changed? At what age did the starvation start? Was nutrition slowly restricted?

And lastly, could this be why they may be searching former properties for children who did not survive?
