Katelyn Schwindt: Public's help sought in finding woman missing after trip to Pala Casino

According to sheriff’s officials, someone contacted deputies at the department’s San Marcos station just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday to report Katelyn Schwindt missing.

The person who contacted deputies said the 27-year-old Schwindt posted a message on her Facebook page that indicated she was at Pala Casino on the evening of June 24. In the same message, Schwindt wrote that she was possibly drugged and assaulted.

Schwindt is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what kind of clothing she may be wearing.

Anyone with information on Schwindt’s whereabouts is urged to contact the sheriff’s department at 760-510-5200.

Local news made me aware of this missing woman Katelyn Scwindt and her social media cry for help. I'm worried this woman was in real trouble, and I pray there's still time to help her.

"When Hudnell saw the Facebook posts, she said there were too many typos for it to be a joke."

Some parts of it read:

The CrimeOnline article indicates the missing person wrote that she thought she was being taken to Nebraska?

Any history of human trafficking in Nebraska? Perhaps Omaha in the 80's?

We've all read the same comments as you, but apparently LE and some of her personal friends deem this a real situation. If she was drugged, I don't expect her to make complete sense or tell me the exact device she was using. She's still missing. so I'd rather they look into it. JMO.

This woman needs to be found right away. Why would it be a hoax? Please take it serious now, LE, and if at all possible, rescue her before it's too late.

The Pala area comes up quite often in criminal cases. I think the casino was mentioned as part of the Mc Stay case. Plus it was definitely the area that was part of the Amber Dubois case. The terrain around Pala is rugged with canyons.

Amber's killer is serving his lifetime in prison, but after over a year's search and another young woman killed, Amber was found near Pala.

“The discovery was made in the early morning hours Saturday in a very rugged and remote area of Pala,” said Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher. “Escondido police and sheriff’s homicide detectives were following a lead in the case when they made the discovery.”

The remains, found north of the Pala reservation, were positively identified through dental records Saturday afternoon.

The crimeonline article names who she says she was with. Her friends have looked into that further. Sadly early reports sound like they were dismissed.

I first wondered about that too. Then I saw a screenshot of a text saying she was about to lose WiFi. I thought maybe she didn’t have cell service only WiFi which would explain no phone call. I don’t know.

Has anyone seen Katelyn Schwindt??? Last time she posted was about 12 hours ago and she was in distress. I’m trying locate her so I can help her. UPDATE: family has contacted the police and they are now envolved. Please everyone keep an eye and ear out. We need to find her and bring her home.

Schwindt’s brother, Jeff Paben, wrote that the police needed her last known phone number and Paben asked anyone with that information to share it. Multiple people have remarked that they tried calling Schwindt but that the number had been disconnected.
