I followed this thread way back when it first started, then sadly everything ended.
I'm glad to see it getting more interest.

In my opinion the family found something out and didn't want to share it with the rest of us.

I'm too lazy right a the moment to look back at the previous posts and pictures to compare but, the Mug Shot looks promising. He does look like he could be related to Rose, they sort of have the same bone structure. Such an unusual name. Almost seems like it has to be him.

This may sound WAY out in left field to some of you... but bare with me for a moment.

Oakland is just across the bridge from San Fran... a very attractive place for a teen runaway in the early 70's. The People's Temple was actively recruiting/"preaching" in San Fran during that time period. (they were located in Redwood Valley, but made weekly trips down to the city) The Temple was a haven for runaways and drug addicts.

What pointed me in this direction was actually a former member (survivor) of Jonestown. She was a member of the Synanon church after she came back to the states after the massacre. I remember reading that She knew someone who had been a member before coming to the People's Temple.

If Rose called between 79 and 82 stating she had been homeless for a year, this would coincide with the state of California seizing all the People's Temple properties in late 1978, leaving the remaining members homeless.

Rose would have escaped going to Guyana due to her age and not being able to get a passport. She would have been left in CA.

If this is what happened to her, it's very possible that she is alive and well, and simply does not wish to be identified.
Many of the survivors of The People's Temple still refuse to talk about that time, even those who remained in the states.
Many have chosen to live in anonymity.
Combine that with the family she had and you get a girl that never wants to be found.

Off the beaten path, I know. Crazy? Maybe... But it occurred to me... so.

Rose did have a brother named "Pose" and there was a connection to Texas. I think trying to contact him would definitely worth the time.

Hi gang, It's been a few years! I ran across something rather interesting and wasn't sure if anyone else has seen it. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with why the family backed away, and you'll probably find it hard to fathom even, but there are apparently photos which may depict Rose murdered that were in the possession of Jack Tarrance, who is a potential Zodiac suspect, and possibly known under other monikers as well, and he may be found to be responsible for other well known unsolved cases. The ramifications of it runneth over into a cataclysmic labyrinth of unthinkable twists and turns that leave you in disbelief that one man could even possibly be remotely responsible for so many things, yet unable to remove all doubt in your mind as you weigh the evidence of its possibility. He couldn't have possibly had his hand in so many cookie jars... or could he? If you are or are not familiar with what is happening in the pursuit of the investigation into Jack Tarrance, now deceased, here is a good read as there is a war going on out there among people who wish to discredit the possibility that Jack is The Zodiac. That is because Jack presents a serious threat to the reality he is the real McCoy. That could present quite a problem for a lot of people. That is, for everyone but Jack Tarrance. Among the potential evidence was a hood similar to that seen by a victim of The Zodiac, and a knife that may still have blood stains from a victim. The hood was examined and found to be made of materials which could potentially pre-date 1962 as the newest product was thread which began manufacture in 1961, meaning the hood could not have been made before 1961. Dennis Kaufman, Jack's stepson, made some similar copies of the hood which probably wasn't the smartest idea as it then raised doubts as to the authenticity of the original, but Jack seems to indicate, indirectly, he is in fact The Zodiak, on tape if you listen carefully, chuckling and saying "Why would you put that 'I think' on there?" Jack Tarrance is listed Zodiak suspect #2 on AMW. I'd say that makes him a compelling contender until further notice from the FBI who has not been able to rule out the possibility since learning of his potential involvement. That says something.

And while it will not be heard in the newscast link above, on that same recording, if you listen to the whole thing, Jack says it began before he joined the military. If so, that would pre-date known victims of the Zodiac. I won't even go into the cases, in which he may have played a hand, as you would never believe it until you start checking things out for yourself. Let the chips fall where they may.

I am a former bit of a Wicca follower & psychic and I am understand more & more of what went on in the place when Rose was there. I emailed some of the former people who were at the Synanon, some good & some bad memories including the nightmares they still have from the place. One of the men, I talked with though email & on the phone in 2008, he was beaten severely when before he left the place in 1974, I asked if he knew a Rose and he said yes, but he also remembered a girl named Beth, they treated her badly and then he said he didn't see her after, he also left a few days later and moved to Canada, he still had the nightmares. I asked him about this Underground railroad, at first he said he didn't want to talk about it, I said please? He said when he was sent there and horrible things happened there, I said like what? His exact words were "The smell of death". After I got off the phone with him, I went searching and is still searching. I tried to call him back in 2010 & his phone was disconnected!! Strange. I also tried emailing him and those went unanswered to this day.

Does it mean year of the dragon? Like the Chinese zodiac or whatever it's called? I don't know what a capricorn dragon would be but for instance I was born in the year of the dog, which my husband and I think is funny, because I am crazy about dogs.

Also I am puzzled by something. I saw some posts indicating that Rose may have been on this thread and may have been watching it. I have followed this thread for a long time but must have missed something. Which poster was she and what makes some members believe it was Rose?

Yes, that's the only thing I could think of, the year of the dragon. I'll have to google what year that would be when I have more energy.

I, too, find the posts you mention confusing. No offence to the poster ("Aren't you Rose..."), but I find them a little creepy. If I were missing and checking out a forum about myself secretly, they'd freak me out and send me into hiding real quick.

I do wish Rose's family would check in.

If Rose is still living, why would she need to hide or use an alias? She is not a fugitive or anything. The reasons she was sent to Synanon to begin with would hardly matter after these many years. What I'm wondering is why she would feel the need to hide her identity. What would there be to be afraid of? I have seen some speculation about that but unless you have committed a serious crime, or unless you are in fear for your life from someone, I can't imagine why you would need to hide your identity. I can see a person maybe changing their name to get a fresh start in life, but still there would be no need to hide the fact that you have done so.
