The body of a woman who vanished on the Delta on Thanksgiving has been found.
She was discovered by volunteers using advanced sonar technology to survey the river bed.
About 40 feet under water on the bottom of the Delta was the body of 51-year-old Chantra Chanpenxi, according to her family.

“For whatever reason, divine guidance or whatever, she was pretty much right there where the boat was found by the Coast Guard,” Ralson said.

Chanpenxi's husband, who is believed to have drowned as well, remains missing.

I haven't seen any further news stories about this, but the employee newsletter at Van's job just listed him in the "Deaths" section, with a death date of 4/24/14. This information is normally submitted by family or close friends, and it may be that he was "declared" but not yet found.

Van was a very sweet person and fishing was his passion. It wasn't abnormal for him to go fishing 2 or 3 mornings a week before work, then both days on the weekend, pretty much year round. The concept of him just falling in and drowning has been very difficult for people who knew him to accept--plus his mantra of "always always always wear a life jacket"--yet none were worn that day.

I hope his family will be able to find closure.

Looking for updates on this date and I found this. A post on the family support page confirms that Van's body was found as cb73 suggested the possibility in the post before this one.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

Van and Chantra are together again. RIP Mr. Chanpenxi.

On that FB page for them too it listed his Funeral information after his body was found, but now the link is no longer active, as its been so long. Couldn't find any MSM to close thread though :(
