Canada - 3 Schoenborn kids murdered, Merritt, BC, 6 April 2008 *Insanity*

And I was just hoping the taxpayers might save some money, ya know?

Curiously KarlK, I have always heard/seen people refer to the hell child killers and molesters face in jail but I have never, well almost never, seen any evidence of this. I know it does happen occasionally but compared to the HUGE number of these animals that I see reported every day, it seems that only a very few really suffer in jail. I mean, if a perv was killed in jail you would think that it would be reported in the news. So we should see reports every day. If prisons allowed these killings by giving the general population access to them, I think the family of the killer/molester would have grounds for a lawsuit. Therefore I would bet they are better protected than we know.

Sometimes I wonder if this is not more of a myth than reality. As much as I would like it to be true....

We hear about it when it happens relatively quickly after the sentence is handed over (Dahmer comes to mind) but sometimes it can take decades and by then media interest has long been waning. And yes, unfortunately, some sickos eventually die of natural causes.

However, child killers always have a contract on their head and it will be carried out at the slightest chance, sometimes during a staged riot, sometimes with the tacit help of prison staff who will allow an "executioner" (usually a gang or mob killer serving LWOP with nothing to lose) access to a segregation area under various pretenses. Sometimes even prisoners who are themselves segregated from gen pop for other reasons, such as snitches or inmates with drug debts, will take it upon themselves to dispatch a child killer in order to redeem themselves. From these there is very little protection.

Even though someone who kills a child killer will be prosecuted his action is viewed as positive by the public and that has to be taken into account during trial, after all he got rid of vermin. More often then not parties will agree on a reduced charge of manslaughter or even invoke self-defense whenever possible. No prosecutor in his/her right mind wants to be perceived as being sympathetic to a murdered convicted child killer and this is an incentive for a would-be executioner to carry out the "sentence" without worry of being convicted of a capital offense.

I agree that child killers/pedophiles get killed in prison more than we hear about. I'm linking an article from California, it mentions a guy who was awaiting charges on kiddie *advertiser censored* died in 06 at a prison. I know I never heard about it. It seems it's only being brought up now because of how lazy the prison guards are.

You are right it doesn't happen very often, this is the first case I have heard of and I only heard it because I live right near the prison.

Wow! This is so sad and disturbing. I hope they find his body soon..... Oh, I mean find him soon.

:furious:

fran

with you on this one fran.......

..hope they come across his body someday-----

..what kind of human being kills his 3 children--and then props them up on the sofa for their mother to see when she walks in ??

..he deserves much worse than a self inflicted death.

..my heart goes out to the mom, and her 3 little angels now in heaven..

A massive search for a fugitive is over after a local hunter tracked down a father who is the prime suspect in the murders of his three children.

"I didn't even think it was him at first," Robinson told CTV News on Wednesday. "He just looked like a piece of skin wrapped over bones."

"He looked like he was whupped," Robinson said. "He was done, and so was his dog."

ANOTHER ARTICLE

Kim Robinson is a beefy, tough-talkin’ bushman who didn’t really need his intimidating bull mastiff and .22-magnum Savage rifle to bring Allan Dwayne Schoenborn to justice Wednesday morning.

  Kim Robinson!!!

RCMP had a 30 man team on this. I read in an earlier article somewhere that Robinson had offered to help the RCMP and they declined. RCMP even had a helicopter.
Since I am somewhat familiar with the area - suspect was found a short distance from Merritt.

The Post editorial board on the Merritt manhunt: Yet another black eye for the Mounties
April 17, 2008
Colby Cosh
The capture of triple-murder suspect Allan Schoenborn by a civilian resident of the B.C. interior town where Schoenborn's children were killed Apr. 6 brings a strange artistic flourish to yet another Canadian crime drama marked by bungling officialdom and public outrage.

[...]

“Privacy” is a popular item these days in the lexicon of justice, as it is used by the Mounties. No act of ineptitude in communicating with the public can possibly escape its reassuring cover, even though every privacy law or code written down anywhere in the last 50 years contains public-interest exemptions.

But why would the public need to know the identity of the suspect in the case? It’s not like some hardass local dog breeder familiar with the bush was going to capture him and deliver him to the authorities gift-wrapped, was it?

Oh, wait: That’s exactly what happened, even though the RCMP specifically refused help from Schoenborn’s eventual captor, Kim Robinson.

That is an excellent article shadowwraiths! Thank you for providing it. I've been concerned about the RCMP for quite some time now. That is so very true about them always quoting "privacy".

It's a well known fact that the mounties do not "always get their man".

I'd like to see an investigation into what type of training they actually get. For example, that incident in Mayerthorpe awhile back was unbelievable in that 4 mounties lost their lives.

Right on for Robinson! A local bushman would know the area better than RCMP. The main thing is that this sicko was caught.
With all the priors and violations of restraining orders Schoenborn had, this whole mess could have been prevented and 3 children's lives saved, had he been locked up. Hopefully he'll be locked up for life now.

Three years to the day after his three children were found slain in their family home, Allan Schoenborn was granted supervised leave from the psychiatric hospital where he has been confined since he was found not criminally responsible in their deaths...

I believe this is not going to turn out well. His ex-wife is right to be terrified.

I am absolutely outraged at "legally insane, mentally incompetent" laws in this country. How does it make any sense to allow this guy outside visits after only three years, just because he was found to be not criminally responsible for mental reasons? His kids are just as dead regardless of his mental competence. I realize this guy is in Canada but US does have similar laws when it comes to legally insane. Why do we have these laws? If you ask me, after doctors have decided that mentally incompetent person is now no longer incompetent, send that person to regular prison to serve out their time, instead of allowing them to be out and about in the community.
IMO.
:banghead:

He 'wants to go have coffee' outside the hospital? WTH? That does not seem like a very compelling reason to put the entire town at risk, imo.

Whoa whoa whoa there.:eek::eek::eek:

Who is more insane? This guy or the people responsible for granting him his request? Can you imagine being the person who has to wait on him while he has coffee and scones?

Glad to see they know he has anger issues. That's one of the most frightening things I have ever read.

Seriously. He slit his 11 yr old's throat, and they are going to let him go to Starbuck's for a latte because he is bored in his hospital cafeteria. I would like to know just exactly who signed off on that decision.
