“We just know he did the dishes a bit later, and that was the last time anybody saw him,” said his mother, Nathalie Singer.

According to his parents, Singer-Kraus didn’t give them any indication that he was leaving, which they say is out of character.''

''Following an initial RCMP investigation into Singer-Kraus’ whereabouts, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called in Friday evening and continued searching most of the day on Saturday.''

This case is very local to me...I was at the same school at the same time (getting my BSc), and applied as a server to the naked cafe and didnt get the job

Looking on street view, the area around 1400 Scott Crescent is much more forested than I was expecting. It doesn’t look like somewhere you could easily just walk from, or at least not to get to very much, without a vehicle. I assume he is thought to have left on foot, as no mention of a car? There’s definitely a lot of wild space out there to cover.

Or possibly since they're looking at trails, they fear he's lost, or fell into a body of water ?

Since his backpack is missing, clearly he left for a reason and brought some stuff with him. I'm worried about self harm.

''The family’s home has become a command centre in the search for the 23-year-old man. Lucas’ parents are asking everyone to assist how they can, especially as the volunteers who have been searching get tired and others return to work during the week.

“In his own quiet way he’s very resilient,” Sean said of his son. The couple keeps hopeful in knowing the weather hasn’t been extreme and that Lucas is a stubborn man.

“He has depressive episodes. We haven’t gotten to the point of having it diagnosed,” said Sean Kraus.''

''The community is focusing its search on the snow-covered Bear Creek forested area, within a few kilometres of Kraus’ home''
