''Lanark County OPP say Mathew, whose last name was not released, was last seen on Jan. 17 at 10:30 p.m. in the area of Grant and Coleman streets.
Mathew is described as 5 feet 11 inches, 150 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.
He is believed to be wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans and black running shoes.'

''McGrath works at the Waterfront Gastropub in Carleton Place, located on Bell Street; however, “he has been on leave since November (2023),” according to owner Mark Van Rijswijk. “He hurt his back on vacation.”
Rijswijk last saw McGrath 14 days ago and called his disappearance “extremely concerning.”

There is no confirmation yet on who these remains belong to. They have been sent for autopsy to ID and determine COD.

The Lanark County OPP detachment has opened an investigation after human remains were found in the Mississippi River, near the end of Oakland Crescent in Carleton Place.

 


Melissa Rainville, sister of Mathew “Matt” McGrath, confirmed via a social media post today that the body pulled from the Mississippi River in Carleton Place on Sunday is her brother.
