Kimberlee Singler, who is wanted for the murder of two of her children. Colorado Springs Police Department
The police are searching for a 35-year-old woman charged with murdering two of her children, ages 9 and 7, and injuring a third, age 11, at an apartment in Colorado Springs, Colo., last week, the authorities said Thursday.

The woman, Kimberlee Singler, was found injured together with the three children in the early hours of Dec. 19, after the authorities received a report of a burglary at the apartment in the city’s northeast, the Colorado Springs Police Department said in a statement.

Ms. Singler and her 11-year-old daughter, both injured, were treated at the apartment by emergency medical workers before being transported to local hospitals for further treatment, the police said. They would not provide additional information about the nature of the injuries or the cause of death of the 9-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy, pending Ms. Singler’s arrest

Police have declined to discuss how the children were killed or the nature of Singler's and her surviving daughter's injuries.

The court has set a $10 million bond for if and when Singler is arrested. Police said she faces the following charges:

Court documents from around the time of the incident show custody hearings involving both Singler and her ex-husband. A court ruling was made for Singler to bring her children to her ex-husband for a holiday visit, exchange scheduled to take place at CSPD's Stetson Hills Substation at 9 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 16. It is unclear at this time if Singler showed up for that meeting, but court documents say that her ex-husband made an emergency motion for police to enforce the custody agreement on the 17th.

Singler and her daughter were treated on scene for their injuries before being taken to the hospital. According to police, Singler was allowed to leave the hospital because they did not have probable cause to detain her. They say she was treated as a victim/witness at the hospital.

CSPD began efforts to locate Singler, who they say was last seen on Sat. Dec. 23. Her location is unknown at this time. Police did not provide her last known location at this time.

I hope we learn more about the missing pieces.

Why was the meet-up set to be at a police station?
What happened on the 16th, the 17th? Did the father try to get more done, and these children were not served well?

such a very sad case and sad outcome.

Not a lot of crime in that area...
"Police did not elaborate on the 11-year-old girl Thursday except to say that she is doing okay and is being taken care of. As for Kimberlee Singler, she was last seen on Saturday Dec.23. Singler's current whereabouts are unknown."
