New developments in death of Dylan Redwine

MONUMENT – There are new developments in the case of a murdered Colorado boy. The La Plata County Sheriff’s Department says it’s investigating new activity related to Dylan Redwine’s death.

In regards to the ‘new activity’ being investigated, the La Plata County Sheriff’s Department said it would not discuss anything related to the case.

“There are new pieces of information that we know and unfortunately because this is an ongoing investigation I can’t really speak to what they are,” Elaine Redwine, Dylan’s mother told us.
 
I hope for Dylan's mother and brother than answers are coming soon. Please let this be the breakthrough that cracks this case.

DENVER (CBS4) – The mother of a boy who disappeared near Durango is talking about the latest developments in the case.
Last week investigators said they have a person of interest in Dylan Redwine’s death. Redwine disappeared in 2012 while visiting his father. His partial remains were found months later. Dylan’s mother, Elaine Hatfield, says she is confident the case will be solved soon and remains optimistic.

DURANGO, Colo. - The La Plata County Sheriff's Office confirms Mark Redwine, the father of Dylan Redwine, is officially a person of interest in Dylan's death.

"That designation was based on evidence collected, inconsistent statements made by Mark Redwine and his behavior throughout the investigation," the Sheriff's office said in a statement sent to 7NEWS.

Officials also said the La Plata County Coroner has amended Dylan's death certificate from undetermined cause of death to homicide as the cause of the death..."

Just as deputies were crafting their announcement that Mark Redwine was a person of interest in the death of his son Dylan, a judge was rejecting the elder Redwine's attempt to dismiss his ex-wife's lawsuit.

Elaine Redwine, Dylan's mother, filed the wrongful death lawsuit against her ex-husband on June 29. At the time, she said she has never been shy about who she thinks murdered her son.

New search of Middle Mountain set in Dylan Redwine case

A new search for evidence in the death of Dylan Redwine, the 13-year-old boy who went missing in November 2012 north of Vallecito Reservoir, is planned next week for a section of Middle Mountain.

The closure from July 6 to 11 is near the top of Middle Mountain Road (Forest Road No. 724), from about 0.75 miles before Cave Basin Trailhead. The closure will block access to Cave Basin Trailhead and Tuckerville. And Runlett Park Trail will be closed from Runlett Park to two miles south of Middle Mountain Road.
