The skeleton of what investigators believe to be a tall, thin male has been found off a road east of the developed portion of Golden Gate, the second body to be found in Collier County in two days, the sheriff's department said.

[...]

The skeleton, found by a surveying crew at 4 p.m. Monday was covered by natural growth 80 feet off 13th Avenue Southwest near State Road 951. Investigators said there is little they can tell about the remains.

Deputy Chief E. G. "Chuck" Whidden said he guesses the body had been at the site for 1-3 years. He said there was no immediate indication of bullet wounds. And he said the age can't yet be determined, although he guesses it to be between 20-40.

[...]

He said the assumption it was a male is from clothing fragments that were found -- most of the clothes had rotted away. Two gold chains were around the neck, one with a cross and the other with a fish.

[...]

Whidden said there are a "lot of fillings" in the teeth and this will be the way he said he hopes to identify the skeleton. He said attempts will be made to find the dentist who worked on the teeth.

Two necklaces were found on the body, both gold. One with a cross that appears to be hand made. The other was originally identified as having a fish on it, but after cleaning it, Whidden said it is an Italian pepper, an ornament worn by many.

I wonder if he's any connection to the Destefano family (Lucchese crime family members)?

Probably not.
