It took me a minute to get this straight, in my head. I feel like the assailant killed the acquaintance this morning, inside of a vehicle whose driver gave him a lift, for reasons only known to him at this time, and then took off. This happened on the 6100 Block of Hialeah. He returns to Hialeah, sees the vehicle that is not clearly marked as NEWS and mistakes it for LE, or someone looking for him because he knows he's been identified by two other people in the car when he killed the other passenger. Shoots the reporters. Then runs into a home, to hide, and there's a woman and child in front of him. Adrenaline is already going, he kills them. No more bullets left for a shootout or sbc. Just guessing.

So we have detained the person believed to be responsible for the murder this morning as well as the shootings this afternoon he is 19 year old Keith Melvin Moses he is being formally charged in the murder from this morning and we expect additional charges for the shootings of the four people this afternoon at 19 he has a lengthy criminal history
to include gun charges aggravatedness aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon burglary and grand theft
charges.

so again the the vehicle didn't look like a typical news vehicle with a lot of markings on it uh you know it's it's possible that he could have mistaken them for law enforcement I just don't know at this time.

So we had cleared the scene the prior homicide happened at 11 o'clock in the morning it happened in a vehicle you
know that vehicle was towed for processing uh detectives had already done their canvas of the neighborhood and had
cleared the scene and were out actually following leads on the suspect Moses because they quickly developed him as a
suspect in this case.

it seems like there were three people in the car. uh the suspect shot the victim uh as they were in that vehicle on Hialeah. So I'm assuming they're acquaintances we just don't know the exact um relationship at this point.

Moses is a known gang member, although the shootings were not gang-related, according to the sheriff. It’s still unclear what the motive is for any of the killings.
Mina reiterated the only charge against Moses is first-degree murder in Augustin’s death. More charges are expected for the murders of Lyons and Major.
“We’re not looking for anyone else. He’s our guy,” Mina said.
Mina commended another news crew for staying on the scene during the shooting and rendering aid until deputies arrived.
Keith Moses, 19, is believed to have been the gunman involved in all of the shootings.
