Husband charged in Shook slaying
Police: duct tape, rope, shovel connect him
The tear pattern on a roll of duct tape found inside Joseph Shook’s home matched the tear pattern on the piece of duct tape that covered his estranged wife’s mouth when searchers found her body.
That’s how it looked to forensic investigators.
To a hardware store employee, the man who bought 10 feet of rope and a red-handled shovel six days before Melissa Shook died appeared to be Joseph Shook.
Detectives had already found a red-handled shovel in Joseph Shook’s home.
They also had seen 10 feet of rope wrapped around the wrists of Melissa Shook’s body.
