FL FL - Paula Sladewski, 26, Miami, 3 Jan 2010

I haven't believed from the beginning that the BF was involved in her death. I think Miami LE is focusing on him because Miami already has such a bad reputation and they don't want to run away the tourist. LE would much rather it be an out-of-towner versus a local that did the deed.

Years ago my DH and I stayed there one night before leaving on our wedding cruise, we were almost afraid to go to sleep, DH had to keep checking on our car.

My guess at this time is that the boyfriend was not involved and the prime reason for that is what someone, oceaneyes i think, posted which is, it seems to me like it would be very difficult for someone to be seen with someone, kill them, and dispose of their body at three different locations miles apart when they are from out of town without a car, without leaving lots of evidence.

However, what we have is a couple that was fighting that morning when last seen together, and have had domestic violence charges in the past. Then you have the guy, I have no idea what he is like, but from the way he is being portrayed in the media he seems to be not a great guy, somewhat of a freeloader, sounds really like a suitcase pimp to me. When you put this together and you look at what usually happens when one part of a couple ends up dead like this LE would be crazy not to have this guy number one on the suspect list until they can rule him out. Like I said at least with the info we have at this time it looks like he was not involved BUT I think for the police to focus on him first was a natural and normal thing to do and did not have anything to do with politics or image management or w/e. In fact if they had not focused on him first I would think there was something strange about that.

Has anyone heard when LE will be releasing the sketch of the guy seen leaving with Paula?

tia.

I just wanted to throw something out there I had been thinking about. But before I do I want to say this is all just theory on my part and it not meant at all to be insulting to the victim. I don’t judge people on things like this and again it’s just a theory. Most importantly even if any of this is the case it in no way justifies anything that happened or makes it any less bad.

Reading this got me thinking:

snip
Sladewski, 26, was an aspiring model who had appeared in a Playboy model-search video in 2003. While searching for modeling jobs, she worked as an exotic dancer, splitting her time between her native Garden City, Mich., and California.

“He’s guilty of being a coward,” Bussell alleged. “My sister paid for his plane ticket down there. She paid for everything — the room, the meals they ate — and he was responsible for her; responsible for her safety, her well-being. He left her there without a cell phone. What kind of respect can you have for a man like that? He left my little sister there to fend for herself.

Basically you have a lady who is an aspiring model who works as a stripper and has been in playboy, which is a familiar story. She lives part time in LA (or at least the LA area) LA is known as the center of the adult entertainment business and she was in Miami, recently the adult entertainment industry has been setting up shop and growing quickly in south Florida particularly the Miami area. Not coincidently both of these areas are also centers for the currently booming escort business. I have no idea if PS may have been involved in any of this at all but many of the young ladies in these business’ are of the aspiring model/actress category (I think in LA they call them mactress’). Then you have the 34 year old boyfriend who goes on ‘vacation’ with his almost ten year younger girlfriend allows her to pay for the entire thing (presumably from money she made stripping? Sounds suitcase pimpish to me).

When I think about all this I wonder if this might mean that one possibility is that this trip was not purely vacation but possibly work or work mixed with vacation. The reason why this matters at all is this may mean that the couple was in contact with people they knew somewhat who were local to the area this would open up a bunch of other possibilities:

1. Could there have been othr ppl w/ them at the club that night (that they knew)?
2. Could she know someone to call if she was upset and didn’t want to go back to where the BF was? Could she have called them, they picked her up and things went bad (sexual assault, or maybe just a drug overdose)?
3. Could the BF have known some of these people? Could she have gone back to him at the hotel and argument breaks out and gets out of control, then he uses these contacts to help him “cover up” after the fact?

I have no idea if PS was involved in any of this and to me from a moral stand point it does not matter at all. I only am throwing out the possibility b/c it might point to some scenarios that are not “stranger assault” that would have otherwise seemed not possible.

Police Release Sketch Of Model's Killer
Paula Sladewski, 26, Was Visiting From Michigan

NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) -- North Miami Police released the sketch of the suspect responsible for burning an aspiring model and leaving her charred remains in a dumpster nearly one month ago.

This is a major break in the case that has stumped detectives. The reward for information leading to the man's arrest had been increased to $15,000, said Crime Stoppers Executive Director Richard Masten.

Surveillance video from a BP Gas station in Downtown Miami exclusively obtained by CBS4 shows a boyfriend desperately searching for his girlfriend Paula Sladewski after he left her at a Miami nightclub.

I hope they're able to locate this person asap! if he's responsible IMO he will this again unless he's forced to stop by hopefully getting the DP or LWOP.

here's another article for those who have probs w/ streaming vid

Days after police released a detailed sketch of the man who a witness says was seen leaving with Paula Sladewski, the model who was discovered in a dumpster after a night of partying, her boyfriend spoke in an exclusive interview on the Today Show about the man in the sketch and what, exactly, in his view, happened that night.

The couple had been on vacation in Miami for New Years Eve, taking in a Lady Gaga concert and then heading to Club Space.

Kevin Klym said that the bouncer at the downtown club who both ID'd them coming into the club and escorted Klym out of the club later that night after the he and Sladewski reportedly got into an argument (a fact Klym disputes), looks like the man in the sketch.

"When I walked in the club," recalled Klym, "this is the gentleman that double ID'd Paula. I just don't think that Paula, on her best day, looked under 21. So I don't know why he would ever do that."

Just heard on FoxNews that America's Most Wanted will be featuring Paula's case tonight. I really pray this brings cops the tips they need to help give Paula justice.

Such a sad and scary case

the more I have read the more I think that the boyfriend did NOT do this, as others say it would be too hard, a tourist with no car...

I remember the case in NYC, where the bouncer killed that poor girl.. a "bouncer" has a lot of "authority" in a club...they could zero in on a girl they fancy....see that she and her boyfriend are not getting along, know they are tourists (they saw their ID)...he/they kick the boyfriend out...she is drinking, maybe they send her drinks, even spike her drink/s...then "lead" her out of the club

Horrible to think this creep is out there, ready to prey on other women...I am glad they are putting this on AMW, hopefully someone will ID him

I am pretty sure that this is Klym's facebook. Why? When you click through, you can see he is friends with Paula Angela Sladewski. What is interesting is in this older photos you can see a man at a dinner tabele with a blond who looks like Paula. When you click to see the recent image, he is alone at the Playboy Mansion. At least that seems to be the famous Grotto behind him.

Here is Paua's model page on Explore Talent. While she is a brunette here, this is the same photo used by CBS (posted below), so it must be her.

Question: On Paula's facebook page, one of her "friends" has initials MK. It is a male name, but there is a female's photo. Is that Paula's photo?

weird
those two girls do not look alike at all to me
forgetting hair colour, I studied each face and the eyebrows are different
I know head shots have a lot of airbrushing done and she probably had her lips injected but they just look like two different people to me

Just saw this case on Dateline, and I have been thinking about it ever since. It reminds me of the Jasmine Fiore case so much. I don't think the boyfriend had anything to do with it, but I am not 100% convinced. No matter how she lived her life she deserved much more in death then to be discarded and burned in a dumpster. I hope they find who did this not only for her and her family, but for all the potential victims that could become this Monster's prey.

i think one of the bodyguards at the club did it. they also point out a convieent black guy as a scapegoat

That's what her b/f thinks too. I dunno though because the club did match the sister's $15,000 reward so....?? Why do that if it could possibly cause someone to implicate a club employee?? I think probably a friend of a friend of a employee?? There's just not really much to go on, it's very frustrating. I will say the one employee who rubbed me the wrong way was the bartender. It really bothers me that nobody seems to care what happened to this beautiful young woman. No matter who we were in Life we all deserve Justice in death IMO.

they can easily put up the money for the reward if they are all covering for one of there own they know it will never be claimed

Very true, but there could have been other witnesses. Surely the whole club can't be in on it. ;)

It is just hard to believe that someone did not see something. There had to be some sober people there somewhere i.e. designated drivers. Someone has to know way more than they are telling . With the surveillance it seems that this case should have been broken by now. I have to believe that the employees of the club hold the key. They are covering for someone!

I just watched this old episode of Dateline today. I read through many of the posts and may have missed it, but did anyone look into the cabbies that wait around outside the club? It is common for a predator to pose as a taxi outside a bar late at night looking for vulnerable women traveling alone. She was wearing 6 inch heels and had been drinking all night and likely had looked around out in front of the bar for her boyfriend. It's possible he offered her a taxi to the hotel and held her hand to assist her to his car. He would know the streets well (very comfortable with the area, said LE).
