Former Defense Attorney,Todd Macaluso *Merged*

We have handled many “class action” lawsuits that involve products, including dangerous over the counter medications and herbal products, such as ephedrine based diet pills. We have and currently are involved in mass disaster litigation such as the San Diego wildfires that caused harm and loss of property to homeowners in the San Diego area in October of 2006.

Our firm led the nation in commencing class action lawsuits involving dangerous diet pills such as Metabolife 356, Cytodyne RFA-1 and others. Our firm represented hundreds of individuals who were injured as a result of the manufacture of such pills using ephedrine, a previously unregulated stimulant that was used in the manufacturing process. As a result of the litigation and going to trial on a class action, ephedrine has been banned in the United States.

I wonder what kind of meds she gave Caylee? I figure that toxicology results may be in the documents we are waiting on and Baez hired him after finding out the results..

I put this on another thread this morning and figure it is best placed here. I don't know about accident, but from reading up on him, I think that he is probably there for cross examination of the experts.

Practices law in Carlsbad, California. Been doing so for 21 years. According to NG last night he is an accident reconstruction expert.

He apparently owns a jet fighter. Not that it is relevant. Just weird.

And this was in the OS:

The new face belongs to Todd M*******, a California trial attorney who specializes in cross-examining witness, especially technical experts.

"This is my world. I deal with the best experts in the world and I deal with the best attorneys in the world," Macaluso said.

"And on a case such as this where I believe that she is innocent, I'm going to fight as hard as I can to prove that in a court of law."

Perhaps they are going to use him for most of the cross examination?

A quick google search shows that he has used Micheal Baden as an expert witness before...this is probably how he got on board. You know the more the merrier all paid for with blood money from Caylee's pictures....disgusting!

Is this the accident reenactment fellow I was reading about yesterday? They are going to have him come in with all his expertise and try to make it look like an accident?

If this guy is as good as they say he will not be there when KC goes to trial unless it truly was an accident. If this guy can't make all the pieces fit perfectly, I predict he will be out of there.

I've lost count, does anyone remember how many other atty's have come and gone?

That is very interesting MMB...huh...as far as how many atty's the defense has gone through trying to come up with something??? Got me, but i do think it's funny that NG got rid of Kobi and went with Dr.Perper(sp). will have to read up on him. Anyone know his birthdate yet?... for the Astro's

thanks for the thread SuziQ, nothing would suprise me any more with the unscrupulous(Word of the day) bunch, trying to profit off of Caylee.

ETA: thanks HRCODEPINK found his birth info and passed it along.http://www.macalusolawyers.com/Firm Info/Lawyers/251927.aspx

I am sorry but i had to laugh last night when I heard Kathy Belich say he specializes in plane and car crashes. I was like what does this have to do with murder. :waitasec: I think they all want to jump on the circus bandwagon for their 15 mins of fame. Come on he must cost a fortune and he thinks to highly of himself. Right off the bat he said KC didn't murder her child when he was talking to reporters for the first ever time.

I found this in his bio and snipped it out. I realized how well he'll fit in with all the others:

"He has been interviewed over 100 times by national and local television stations including NBC Today Show, ABC Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Sixty Minutes, The O’Reilly Factor and many other stations. Many of the interviews and newspaper articles can be seen by doing a Google search “Todd Macaluso, Trial Attorney”.

This, alone, qualifies him, doesn't it? :0)

I have a legal question. Not sure if it is ok to post here.

Is the defense required to tell the prosecution what their DEFENSE will be before the trial? Reason I ask is, if the defense is sticking with the Zanny story then prosecution will have to prepare to debunk it? Same with accident? OR does the prosecution go in there only to prove she killed Caylee and the defense can throw many different scenarios up on the wall hoping one will stick?

I wonder what kind of meds she gave Caylee? I figure that toxicology results may be in the documents we are waiting on and Baez hired him after finding out the results..

Maybe they will say ZANNY gave her bad medication and then framed casey.

Hi all... First post here at Websleuths. I have been following the Caylee Anthony case from the beginning. Hope I can contribute some meaningful views and opinions...

This may be a moot point, but this guy gives himself a little to much credit. Ephedrine has not been banned in the United States. It has become regulated but not banned. You can purchase ephedrine tablets in most convienience stores in the state of Florida simply by showing ID. Same with medication sold from a pharmacy. To me, he seems more like an ambulance chaser. Thanks for the great site.

As far as him being brought in because they are going to put on the 'accident defense', I think that ship sailed away a long time ago. she was offered a plea deal to tell them if it was an accident and explain what happened and where Caylee was, but that came and went because they were sticking to the nanny story.

I have no doubt in my mind Ms. Inmate will be convicted of first degree murder and Jose can bring in any big name he wants too, but it's not going to get her off. Unless these jurors are crime buffs, I bet none of them really know who Baden and the rest are, except for Dr. Lee because of OJ, and I don't think he will ever see the inside of the court room as an expert.

For kC "Silence is golden", but ductape is SILVER!

But, how do they explain the tape over Caylee's mouth?

IMO, any type of defense they put on will not fly with a jury because of the duck tape. But they are bound and determined that they are going to prove Casey's innocence. ha!

How will he explain the duct tape around her mouth? Accidents usually do not require a way to silence the victim.

Oh I agree. But the defense ya know...our Miss Casey is innocent mother of the year.

I bet he's there because Casey's case is a train wreck....

funny, but wasn't Sudafed, IIRC, in KC's shopping at Target on Amy's dime. No idea how those could be linked enough to justify an altered state of mind...but.

Food for thought-
a) What if KC was getting xanax from CA's medicine cabinet-
and CA was getting them from her job-

b) LA claims GA & CA watched Caylee most of the time-

c) CA has the most reasons to teach KC a lesson-

d) CA has two kids

e) What if KC is referring to CA as Nanny-

f) What if CA threw KC to the floor or ground during their fight-

g) What if KC threw Caylee in the car and drove off-

It all fits into her Nanny story at JBP- also the story of the accident ZFG supposedly had and her injuries could have been Caylee's injuries-

She may have gotten a concussion during CA's and KC's fight and the next day, KC saw a big laceration behind her ear-

Kc seems to take info from here and there to make up most of her stories about anything.

RevCrim,
I would like to add one to your very good list:

h) KC killed her by giving her too much "meds" of some kind (accident or on purpose), and used tape to stage kidnapping, because CA would never forgive KC for killing her baby girl. In this event, KC didn't think through the plan enough to see that everyone isn't as gullible as her family to believe such a half-a$$ story!
