I found a page for him on missingveterans.com. The website doesn't have any new info, as far as description or circumstances are concerned. But if he's on this site, then he was a veteran, so where/how/when did he serve?

I get that his picture has what appears to be navy(?) hat, but anyone can purchase a lookalike. However the site suggests he's wearing his actual service hat.

It just says Navy veteran...I never found any records on Ancestry when I was searching. Not that they don’t exist, I just didn’t find any. Maybe he was AWOL at the time?
