Someone did post it here though, not sure about timing but I remember it.
I wouldn't be surprised if other people found it too, it wasn't difficult. I assumed it was me because I posted it to the other site on a Saturday (7/15/23) and it was in NY Post on Monday along with the erroneous fact Rex was standing on 36th St (the screenshot I posted was labeled 1E 36th St). I know this isn't relevant to the case or any great sleuthing feat (just luck he happened to be there), just clarifying facts.

Happy Face Killer’s daughter slams claim Gilgo suspect's wife was an accomplice

''THE wife of accused Gilgo Beach killer Rex Heuermann was “100 percent” not an accomplice to her husband’s sick alleged crimes and her life has been “totally destroyed”…

'Asa Ellerup invited Melissa Moore to her home on Long Island after she started a to help with repairs and other costs after Rex Heuermann's arrest

''She flew from her native California to New York on August 5 to meet with Asa, Christopher, and Victoria, in person to offer them her support firsthand.

During the time they spent together, Moore said she was struck by Ellerup's compassion for others and said it's evident she is still struggling to process the events of the last month''

"Her innocence is clear. I've been in this space for so long, I've met hundreds of other families going through similar circumstances, and I can read a person very well.

"When the day comes when she finally feels like sharing her story, everybody will have no doubt that she wasn't involved in any way.''

''She arrived at the family's home on the morning of August 6 as volunteers from two companies - Gorilla Security and Protection and G&D Remodeling - were bringing debris and broken furniture from inside the home into a dumpster outside.''

''The bathroom door - which had been custom-made by Rex to cater to his hulking six-foot-four frame - was missing from its hinges and Ellerup had nailed a curtain over the doorframe for privacy, Moore said.''

Beyond "transportation and gratification" as motivation to dismember, I would also add "to threaten or warn others," if the killer did it to motivate others who had something in common with the victim (other escorts, other drug users, someone who is aware of something hidden and illegal) to keep quiet, stay in line, or something like that.
Yes.
Agreed. I doubt he's in a frame of mind to be able to concentrate on reading a novel or long work, so how would you pass the endless time?
I'd read novels. probably ones that need considerable effort so I'd be all in.

Probably really hard ones that I have to take notes to keep up. Just to stay very engaged in a fantasy world.

the best novel like that? The Other Black Girl. It was a really hard book to follow. But it was totally worth it to unravel. I think I read it 2-3 years ago, and still, I think about the bizarre connections to this day.

Maybe reread things like sound and fury. That takes super concentration (For me). Then I'd forget my surroundings.

I wonder if that was the only door in the house that needed to be customized for Rex's hulking frame.

I am getting a "link cannot be found" error message for your link. A geo-block perhaps?

Anyone else?

Edit to add: I managed to get in via going to the Pix11 site directly and clicking on the story. Link below for any others who may have issues:

And sds71's link still does not work for me.

Does anyone recall seeing doors being hauled out? So odd that they would only take the one.
along with all of the tiles... the linoleum was left on the kitchen floor.....

I can’t imagine they’d take the door and removed tiles without luminol showing there had been evidence of a crime. I’m guessing nothing showed on the linoleum or it would be gone, too.

''Here’s five new things to know about Heuermann’s stay in jail:
1. Heuermann is in an isolated housing unit where he does everything, including eat, alone. He is also alone for recreation time and is unable to speak with other prisoners.
2. He has been reading though DiStefano couldn’t answer the exact titles, adding, “he has access to the same reading materials as any other inmate.”
3. He’s requested religious services and was seen by a member of the Roman Catholic Church with no specified title. It’s unclear if the person is a priest or not, and DiStefano could not say if Heuermann had the sacrament of confession, a rite in which penitents confess their sins and other wrongdoing.
“We would not know the answer to this question,” she said.
4. He’s had two visitors, including his attorney, Michael Brown of Central Islip, and one other visitor. The sheriff’s office “will not disclose who that was,” DiStefano said.
5. He has been making phone calls, though DiStefano would also not say to who, saying that the office cannot “reveal” that.
Heuermann's attorney has maintained his innocence and says he looks forward to his day in court.
He is due back in court on Sept. 27.''

The term " hooker " actually comes from Corlear’s Hook, a New York City neighborhood whose brothels became a notorious stop for sailors. It actually doesn't have an inherently negative connotation, imo. That said, our usage of the word has definitely taken on demeaning undertones over time, but I think that would be true of almost any word used to describe something that we, as a society, feel inclined to pass moral judgement on.

Victoria wasn't dismembered, was she ?

ETA:

During News 12's jailhouse interview with Suffolk County Sheriff Erroll D. Toulson Jr. this week, he weighed in on the expanding investigation out west where Heuermann has owned a timeshare for the past 2 decades. " I do feel there's similarities, it's very scary," he says. " When you see the deaths, the type of women that were killed, the occupation they were in...it all resonates to this one particular person."

If we are going by just the manner of death, the physical description of the victims, and their occupations, well then I guess RH has killed thousands of sex workers, huh ? I'll stick with a DNA match, Sheriff Toulson.
