Circumstances of Disappearance Curtis "Corky" Chandler was last seen in a vehicle with Owen Clark in unincorporated Lockport, IL on 08/28/1977. Owen Clark walked into a Fire Station the following day with extensive burns all over his body. Clark was considered a suspect. Clark is now deceased.

Seek boy in Lockport burning A 14-YEAR-OLD boy last seen with Owen Clark, the man who was robbed and set afire early Monday near Lock- port, was being sought Wednesday by Will County sheriff's police. Curtis "Corky" Chandler, of 209 Dundee Rd., Lockport, was with Clark Sunday' night at the home of a neighbor, B J, at 206 Dundee Rd. The boy's mother, Delores Chandler. reported him missing on Monday morning. Mrs. J said she last saw Clark and Corky when they told her they were going for a ride in her car. But for some reason unknown to her, she said, they did not take her car and apparently left on foot. DET. SGT. Ray Van Dyke said authorities are not certain the boy was with Clark when he was attacked and seriously burned by unknown assailants early Monday. Clark, 47, is under treatment in Loyola University's McGaw Hospital, Maywood, where police have been unable to question him. The boy was described as 5 feet 2, 130 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Agreed. I wonder if the boys attacked him in retaliation for what they believe was done to their friend. I would bet money the youths that attacked him knew Curtis. Just my opinion.

I believe the article is stating "the girlfriend" as Mr. Clark's.
