Invoice for the Defense for Work Performed

I see the JAC just rejected an invoice for a court reporter for $490 according to Nums just posted news release. :snooty: Not gonna pay it Baez! Open your wallet.

Where is this news? link? I haven't seen it yet.
TIA

OK ... I found what your're talkin about

The court report just had to submit a contract as a vendor, for JAC to pay her bill.

The Justice Administrative Commission rejected a Baez invoice for $490 for a court reporter. Baez would be responsible for any bill that the JAC doesn’t cover, said attorney Richard Hornsby, who offers analysis for WESH.

I believe the OS/WESH article is misleading -- the JAC did not "reject" the bill for the court reporter.
JAC only told the court reporter that she had to get a contract with JAC on file with them before they would pay her.

excerpt from the invoice:
According to our records you do not have a contract on file with JAC. In order to receive payment from JAC, you must enter into a contract with JAC. JAC will directly compensate only those due process vendors who have executed a contract with the JAC. A copy of this contract can be obtained from our website..... The completed contract should then be mailed to JAC..... As soon as your contract is received, your invoices will be processed. ....

:waitasec: I was wondering if this is Baez trying to pull a fast one, such as billing his secretary out as a court reporter, to offset her expenses for a deposition he was taking. To me that sounds like his kinda thing.

I hear what your saying, but as of right now it has been denied. Here is the video report that the news article came from:

In addition to court costs, the Orange County Sheriff's Office submitted a $5517.75 bill for "investigative costs" associated with the check fraud case. Anthony's attorneys have disputed that amount, and so far a judge has not ordered Anthony to pay those costs.

I wasn't aware the defense attorneys can dispute a bill from the OCSO for investigative costs????

Sooooooooo.......

($945 + $1494) ÷ $45/hr = 47.125 hours
$1885 ÷ $40/hr = 54.2 hours (reflects reduction in hourly rate as of July 1, 2010)

47.125 + 54.2 = 101.325 billable hours

Anyone remember how many "local investigator" hours Jose was allowed?

300 in-state hours

Kinda/sorta ironic in the fact that JB can within days sign and submitted invoices for ICAs PI work and court reporter work, yet waits over 18 months to get his forensic experts to view and review the actual physical evidence.

No humor at all, simply sad; there is no earthy reason for these excessive/extensive PI investigations and JB is expending MORE time and state $$$$ on this vs. his experts doing their jobs. He needs to rework his priorities.

I can't believe the amount they are spending on PI's - and inflated PI bills. How long would it really take to investigate George's suicide when his medical information is unable to be touched? Is Jose getting kickbacks? I sincerely hope someone looks into that. I don't trust that man any farther than I can throw him and I am a whole 4'11" tall.

Thank you!

So less than 200 hours left to investigate those 4,000 TES searchers.

Here's hoping they all have call display and choose to ignore calls from Florida. Tick Tock. Then again maybe the psychic could help them by weeding out the call display folks lol!

I had just assumed I was doing something wrong when I couldn't see the info on your other link ... tee hee hee wish we could see the full invoice that goes with this bill, so we could see what investigative work h did .... like with the investigation of George's suicide attempt.

I've been looking without success to find a way to get that info online.
