NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is seeking the public’s help locating a family reported missing.

Police say Ramon Ruiz Crisanto, 31, his wife Steys Yanira David-Funez, 26, and their two children, Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz David, 5, and Dara Ismeray Ruiz David, 2, were reported missing after their move to Houston on Nov. 30, 2023.

Continues at link.

Following link says that the mother's father drove them to the Greyhound Bus station in New Orleans on Nov 30, 2023. He received a text saying they arrived in Houston, but family in Houston says they haven't arrived in Houston.

How very odd. Even if one of them was to harm and disappear the other 3, it would surely be near impossible to do without a car. If the were moving by Greyhound, they wouldn’t have gotten very far unless they all went (somewhat willingly?) in a taxi maybe.

There should be cctv at the bus stations and I would imagine on the bus too?

On Monday, the New Orleans Police Department released details about the disappearances of 27-year-old mother Steys Yanira David-Funez; 31-year-old father Ramon Ruiz Crisanto; and their two daughters, 4-year-old Jazzlyn Esther Ruiz David and 1-year-old Dara Ismeray Ruiz David.

Police said David-Funez's father reported them missing.

According to police, the missing mother's father drove the family to the Greyhound bus station at 1001 Loyola Ave. in New Orleans on Nov. 30, 2023.

Police said they were told the family was moving to Houston, and David-Funez's father said he received a text message on the same date informing him that they arrived at their destination.

As of Monday, the family left New Orleans 67 days ago.

Police said the family members are Hispanic. They provided photos of them but no descriptors.

The person who reported their disappearance said he received a text saying the family had arrived at their destination, but other relatives in Texas reported the opposite.

Several attempts to contact the family again by that person were unsuccessful, raising concerns.

They were supposed to catch a bus from New Orleans to Houston, and at first, it seemed they had done so, according to police. Hours after dropping them off, the father received a text message saying they’d made it to their destination, police said.

But when he tried to contact his daughter later that week, there was no answer from her or the rest of the family, police said.

Investigators say he reached out to relatives in Texas who were expecting the family’s arrival and learned distressing news. Contrary to what the text message said, relatives say the family never showed up, according to police.

The couple’s daughters are ages 4 and 1, officials said.

However, the uncle told Steysi’s father that he never heard from the family when they arrived, despite Steysi reportedly texting her father, “Daddy, I’m here,” upon arriving at the Harrisburg Boulevard station in Houston.

Now, roughly a week after the New Orleans Police Department made public that the family was missing, there is speculation that the family may have traveled to Mexico.

Even still, relatives have reportedly expressed skepticism over the notion that the family would have crossed into Mexico since they moved to the United States to work

KPRC 2 obtained the bus ticket that purports to show that the family did reach Houston. However, another ticket suggests they boarded another bus destined for McAllen before getting off at a stop in Monterrey, Mexico
