I think the shoes/clothing robbery was incidental. We don't know if they had any money on them. If they did, that could have been the main target.
 
Take a look at the video at the link and tell me he's not loaded right then. I hope for his sake he isn't the reason those boys are dead. It's also pretty clear that he doesn't fit the description of the "thin white man" described in the shooting report above.

DETROIT - Richard Baxter, Jacob Kudla's uncle, is the last family member to see the teen and his friend, Jourdan Bobbish, alive.

Baxter has been questioned several times by police who are taking a close look at his own police record.

Kudla, 17, and 18-year-old Bobbish were last seen by Baxter on Sunday, July 22 at his home on the east side of Detroit. The teens were supposed to return home to Westland Sunday night, family members said. Kudla's vehicle was found July 23 in Detroit. The teens were found shot dead Friday in a west Detroit field.

"I think they stopped off at the stores somewhere ... and got jacked," Baxter said.

Baxter said the teens picked up marijuana and pills, including Xanax, from him on Sunday. He said he has no idea what happened to them after they left his house.

"I gave them a couple of each," he said. "I gave them pot. I had some pot.

Police have questioned Baxter at least five times. The Local 4 Defenders have learned he is on probation right now. He faces a number of drug-related charges from possession to distribution.

Sources tell the Defenders that it's clear Baxter has ties to drug dealers. He has been cooperating with police in their investigation into the teens' murders.

The question is: Does he know something about his nephew's murder?

"I've been crying ever since," he said.

Both people in custody have failed lie detector tests....we will surely know if uncle sent them to deliver or pick up something or even if revenge was involved because at least one of them will say.
 
Uncle arrested on probation violation yesterday:

Mount Clemens— The uncle of one of two slain Westland teens who were shot execution-style in an overgrown field on Detroit's east side was taken into custody Wednesday for supplying the teens with drugs the night they disappeared, authorities said.

Jourdan Bobbish, 17, and Jacob Kudla, 18, were reported missing after visiting Kudla's uncle, Richard Baxter, on Sunday night at his east side home. Family members said Baxter had supplied the pair with marijuana and pills.

The teens' bodies were found Friday in a field near Coleman A. Young International Airport. Their car was discovered on the city's northwest side.

Baxter, 44, who has five drug offenses on his record, was in custody for violating probation on a 2010 drug charge. That violation was amended Tuesday because he allegedly gave drugs to Bobbish and Kudla, according to Macomb County Circuit Court files.

Detroit police detectives interviewed Baxter several times in connection with the double homicide; police have not named him as a suspect.

Macomb Circuit Judge James Biernat Jr. ordered Baxter held on $5,000 bond.

But Villneff stepped in front of her, taking two bullets in the back. He died at the scene but not before calling his son to alert him of the attack.

"I didn't even get to tell him I loved him," said John's son Michael Villneff. "These cowardly, heartless, worthless people took a key person in our family away from us for nothing." .........

A break in the case, house raided, 1 arrest, other POI in this and other cases already behind bars:

Now we're learning more about the moments that led up to their murders. It involves a house on Algonac Street that was raided Tuesday night. Police discovered blood inside.

Sources say Bobbish and Kudla left there and met up with some men, who brought them back the house on Algonac, part of a drug deal that went terribly wrong.

The men forced the teens into a car, drove them to the end of Lyford Street, walked into a field and shot them to death. Their bodies were discovered days later.

A hearing will resume Monday to decide whether two men will stand trial for first-degree murder in the killing of two suburban Detroit teens in 2012.

The bodies of 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish and 18-year-old Jacob Kudla were found in a field on Detroit's east side. The Westland residents had been missing for five days.

A probable cause hearing began Wednesday for Fredrick Young of Detroit and Ferlando Hunter of Jackson. Detroit District Judge Michael Wagner will decide whether to send the case to trial in Wayne County Circuit Court.

The first witness, Brandon Hall, testified that he was at a friend’s home on Algonac the night of July 22 when his cousin Young, nicknamed Lock, and Hunter, known as Lando, arrived.

Through sometimes claiming to not remember details of a night two years ago, Hall provided an account of the defendants arriving at the home uninvited, followed a short time later by “two white boys.”

Hall’s memory was refreshed with a statement made to police in April recounting Young and Hunter robbing the Westland teens at gunpoint and forcing them to strip to their underwear before taking them outside into the trunk of a car.

A Detroit judge has ordered two men to trial on first-degree murder charges in the drug-related killing of two suburban Detroit teens in 2012...

On Wednesday, District Judge Michael Wagner ruled that there's enough evidence to try 25-year-old Fredrick K. Young of Detroit and 23-year-old Ferlando D. Hunter of Jackson.

The Young and Hunter are scheduled to appear in Wayne County Circuit Court for arraignment July 23.

Less than two weeks later, 62-year-old John Villneff was shot to death during a home invasion on Detroit’s west side.

The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says Hunter was sentenced in March to life in prison for Villneff’s murder. Young also faces sentencing Wednesday for home invasion in that case.

Walking within about 10 feet, Kokenos said he saw the bodies and then ran back to their truck to call 911. Due to the decomposition, he said he thought the bodies were two black males. Kudla and Bobbish were both white. The teens were identified by dental records.

"It looked like they had been shot on their knees and fell forward on their faces," said Kokenos, who got out of the witness stand to demonstration the position of the bodies...

"Basically, it looked like an execution," said Hart, who was the officer in charge of the crime scene. "They were on their knees and slumped over. It was a very overgrown area. It is very desolate. There is no house or business with a line of sight to the scene."

A jury on Thursday convicted Fredrick Kyle Young, 26, and Felando Hunter, 23, each of two counts each of first-degree murder and felony murder; one count each of torture, armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment and felonious use of a firearm.

The teens had been missing about a week before their bodies were discovered by authorities and it's believed they came to Detroit in an attempt to purchase drugs.

A jury found Hunter guilty of the Villneff and the murder of Joshua Hayes the following day. Prosecutors say Hunter and others took captive Joshua Hayes captive. They forced him to received oral sex from Chanel McDonald, one of the home invaders. Jerry Pringle and Hunter shot Hayes in the head during the sex act, investigators said.

McDonald is serving a 10-year-sentence for her involvement. Jerry Pringle received a 42-year-prison sentence.
