Came from Center Line in Michigan. His father died in 1994 and his mother in 2020. The latter's obituary at Cora Frances Havlena Obituary (tributearchive.com) confirms his family and yearbook photos on Ancestry match the picture above and confirm he is the right Jeffrey Stinnett. As the mother's obituary shows, the family believe him to be dead and also show no spouse or children for Jeffery, further reinforcing the identification.
There is also a small piece on Jeffrey at Boys Enter the House: The Victims of John Wayne Gacy and the Lives They Left ... - David Nelson - Google Books in which his mother is quoted as saying to the police when she filed the missing person report,
"her son may have entered a religious cult owing to his attitude in the past year". This piece also quotes his sister Nancy Kubinski, reinforcing the identification as this name matches with the obituary.

Since there is so little info- it seems that few people were interviewed - so the date of last contact is possibly not the last time he was seen. I mention it because in January 26th 1978, was the start of the Great Blizzard of 1978 that killed a confirmed 51 people. The ‘last contact’ was January 11, 1978. I’d love to know if that last contact was a parent or friend, because I would often go a couple weeks without communication with family while I was in college and I had a cell phone in the early 2010s (and may explain the ‘attitude’ the family mention). I could see a possible car accident like into a body of water.
