On Monday night, Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw tweeted that the body does not match the description of Jessica Heeringa, who has been missing from Norton Shores since April 26.

A false report on Facebook that missing mom Jessica Heeringa had been found caused a lot of social media buzz on Monday. The post on the “Find Jessica Heeringa” Facebook page is not true, according to Norton Shores Police Chief Daniel Shaw.
Chief Shaw spent the day dispelling the rumors and said they hurt both the investigation and the family.

"No, count right," his dad laughed. "You know how to count, mister. Quit cheating."
The 3-year-old with big blue eyes knows his colors. And he's polite.
He also knows this much about what happened to his mom:

It's been 54 days since Jessica Heeringa disappeared from her job at a Norton Shores gas station. The national media attention has gone away and tips are coming in at a much slower pace. If police have a strong theory or even just a solid hunch, they're not saying.

“Isn’t that heartbreaking?” asked the boy’s great-grandmother, Diane Homrich.
It’s been nearly two months since Jessica Heeringa, 25, was abducted from a Norton Shores gas station and convenience store where she worked. She remains missing.

It has been just over two months since Jessica Heeringa was last seen. She vanished late on the night of April 26 at the Exxon gas station on Sternberg Road where she worked.
On April 29, police released surveillance video of the van seen at the time of her alleged kidnapping. The next day police released a sketch of the man believed to have kidnapped her. On May 3, police searched Muskegon State park, but found nothing.

Jessica Heeringa case 2 months later: 'It's just hard to put all the pieces together,' police chief says
The investigation into the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa, the missing Norton Shores gas station clerk, has continued for two full months now as law enforcement officials continue to hold out hope the young mother is alive.

Heeringa, 25, of Muskegon, was allegedly abducted on April 26 from the Sternberg Road Exxon gas station while working alone as she was finishing her shift around 11 p.m.
The Norton Shores Police Department is leading the investigation at this time.
Norton Shores Police Chief Dan Shaw said Friday, June 28, that the case has had some movement, and while there have been “some people of interest,” it’s difficult to tie them to the alleged abduction.

All-day prayer vigil held for family of Jessica Heeringa
Even those who have never met Jessica Heeringa can sympathize with her story.
"It could have been my daughter," said Nancy Harriman, who was at the vigil Tuesday. "It could have been anybody's daughter."
Harriman says that's why she decided to approach Bridge Bible Church about an all-day prayer vigil for Jessica and her family.

For the grandparents of Jessica Heeringa, the nearly 100 days their granddaughter, whom they affectionately call their "little pixie girl," has been gone feels like 100 years.
Sunday, Aug. 4, will mark the 100th day that the 25-year-old gas station clerk from Muskegon disappeared, allegedly abducted while finishing her night shift.
A suspect or suspects have not been identified and authorities have said they have very little to go on in terms of solving the case. A police official whose department is heading the case described the investigation as becoming "frustrating."

It’s been 100 days since a young mother vanished from her work in Norton Shores.
Jessica Heeringa hasn’t been seen since working the late shift at the Exxon gas station, April 26th. Police believe she was abducted. Detectives say there have been no new leads.
