Jennifer Lynn Lieber, 45, was charged in connection to the death of 45-year-old David Joseph Nanovic.

According to the complaint, Jennifer Lieber told her friend that she had been in an argument with Nanovic, and that he had a handgun. Jennifer Lieber told Steenberg she kicked it out of his hand and it went off, hitting Nanovic, the complaint read.

“He was covered in blood and a handgun was located next to his body,” the complaint stated. “Medics arrived and declared he was deceased. Deputies then located a young child in the pool house and brought him to safety.”

It is a must read. Strange that the victim's 10 year old son was quoted in criminal complaint and that he was left in the pool house.
I live in the area and this is in the south metro area of the twin cities and in a rural section by Prior Lake and Lakeville. Pool house caught my attention so I looked up the house up on Zillow. Nice million dollar house with pictures.
Crazy but confusing on what children were in the house and left and then told their dad (separated and getting a divorce) how mom was acting. It was a welfare check on the suspect (Mom) on March 4.

"Deputies talked Lieber into coming out of the house, then located Nanovic's body with a handgun next to it. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene. A 10-year-old boy who identified himself as Nanovic's son was found inside the pool house and brought to safety.

The boy told investigators that he and his father were allowed to stay at the house and that Nanovic and Lieber started a romantic relationship. He allegedly told them they were all sitting on the couch watching TV when Lieber became agitated and grabbed a handgun, which she carried around for the rest of the night.

Prosecutors say Nanovic's son said Lieber was drinking beer and blackberry brandy all night, and that she was yelling insults and racial slurs at the victim. The boy reportedly told detectives Lieber physically abused his father and described the home as "living in hell."

The 10-year-old shared that he and his father retreated to the pool house, where they were soon joined by two of Lieber's biological children who said their mother was acting crazy. Eventually, the boy stated, his father went back up to the main house with his hands raised. That was the last time he saw his father alive."

Lieber also allegedly stated "I loved him", and claimed Nanovic came at her with a gun, she kicked it and it went off.

The medical examiner determined Nanovic died of a gunshot wound to the forehead.

A judge on Thursday set Lieber's bond at $2 million with conditions and $4 million without conditions.

Lieber's first court appearance is scheduled for March 15 at 8:30 a.m.

Seems like she doesn't have criminal history. High bail.
So glad her 2 kids and the victim's 10 year old where not physically harmed. Emotionally harmed - yes.

Victim was also first cousin of suspect, per reports. Very sad.
