Authorities in Crawford County are investigating the disappearance of a 20-year-old local man and are also looking for two persons of interests that may be tied to the case.

  • Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified June 8 of a missing person’s case in Steelville.
  • The family of Albert Terry Barton reported last seeing him on June 6.
  • The circumstances of his disappearance are being considered “suspicious in nature,” Major Carnal said.
  • Albert is a white man, 5’7” tall and 145 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
  • Investigators are searching for two people described as persons of interest in the disappearance. They’re identified as:
    • Beau Dyer, 20F, 5’4”, 150 pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes, scar on her nose
    • Eric Ray, 50M, 5’10”, 165 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, a tattoo of the word “RAY” on his back.
  • Ray and Dyer may be driving a 2010 Ford Escape, with Missouri plates ZF8Z8R or TD6G2E.
  • Dyer was last seen in the early morning hours of June 10 but did not report for work as scheduled.
Anyone who has information on Barton’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 573-775-4911.

He doesn't to me either but I'm fairly certain that's his correct age from what I've seen so far. We also don't know when the photo was taken. I wouldn't think it's too old though since it appears to be a driver's license photo. MOO

Vehicle located in missing person’s case but search continues (threeriverspublishing.com)
Law enforcement have recovered the 2010 black Ford Escape listed as a vehicle possibly involved in a missing persons case in Crawford County, however, it was unoccupied. The vehicle was found on property just outside the city limits of Steelville on Wednesday, June 23.

On June 30, investigators located those two persons in Steelville. They were identified as 20-year-old Beau Dyer and 50-year-old Eric Ray.

Deputies interviewed both Dyer and Ray, and developed information leading them to Barton’s location.

Barton was found dead. The sheriff’s office did not specify a cause of death and did not say where Barton was located.

Woman charged with murder after missing Steelville man found dead | FOX 2

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mo. – Two suspects from Steelville has been charged in connection with the death of Albert Terry Barton. The missing man was found dead Wednesday.

Beau Dyer, 20, is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with evidence. She is being held at the Crawford County Detention Center without bond.

Eric Ray, 50, is charged with tampering with evidence. He is being been held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

On July 1, 2021, charges were filed against Beau Dyer, 20, of Steelville, Mo. Dyer was charged with 1 count of Murder in the 1st Degree, a class A Felony, 1 count of Armed Criminal Action, an unclassified Felony, and 1 count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a class E Felony through the Associate Court of Crawford County. Dyer is being held without bond for the above charges.

Young Steelville Woman Facing Murder Charge in Crawford County Court Later This Month | My Mo Info
A Steelville woman, charged with murder in Crawford County, in relation to the death of Albert Terry Barton, will have her next court appearance later this month at the courthouse in Steelville.

20-year-old Beau Mackenna Dyer is being held on no bond and will have a counsel status hearing on July 29th.

Ray Pleads Not Guilty To Charges In Steelville Man’s Murder

Ray pleaded not guilty to tampering with evidence and abandonment of a corpse in the death of Albert Barton, 20, on June 8.

Barton and Dyer had a child together and according to the probable cause statement, were arguing about her involvement with Ray.

Dyer allegedly shot Barton and left him lying in a wooded area.

Ray allegedly rolled Barton over and took his phone, later hiding it under a low water crossing several miles away.

Ray remains in custody at the Crawford County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 12 for a bond reduction hearing.

Dyer Pleads Not Guilty To Murder Charge

Beau Dyer, 20, Steelville, appeared before Judge Megan Seay on Oct. 4 where she entered not guilty pleas to first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence.

A trial setting has been scheduled for Jan. 3, 2022. She is being held without bond.

Dyer and Barton were allegedly discussing their child.

Dyer told authorities they went for a drive and traveled down a gravel road so she could relieve herself.

She said Barton grabbed her by the hair and began striking her in the head.

Dyer told authorities she pushed Barton off, ran into a wooded area and then shot him.

Asked why she didn’t contact 911, she claimed she was “too scared.”

Dyer allegedly admitted to a factory reset of her phone to destroy evidence of a call to Ray.
