Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: April 3, 1967
Age: 19 years old
Height and Weight: 5'4 - 5'7, 100 pounds

Details of Disappearance
Salucka departed from her apartment on Grand Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri on November 7, 1986. She was planning to visit a friend, but she never arrived at her destination. Salucka has never been heard from again. She left all of her personal belongings behind at her residence. Authorities initially believed that Salucka may have traveled to California to join a musical group in 1986. That theory has apparently been disproven, although it is possible Salucka did head to California. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.

Some agencies may list November 16, 1986 as the date of Salucka's disappearance. Texas authorities are assisting with the investigation.

This case has always stuck with me.. I guess because there isn't much information on her on the web, and her case doesn't have very many detailed facts. It just seems odd.

I wonder if Dennis Rader (the BTK killer) might have been involved with her disappearance. He began his killings in (or before) 1974. After a possible period of inactivity, on Sept. 16, 1986 he strangled Vicki Wegerle, 28, in her home.

Most of BTK's activity was in Witchita, Kansas, not far from Kansas City, MO.

Details of Disappearance
Salucka departed from her apartment in the 4900 block of Grand Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri on November 7, 1986. She had moved to Kansas City from Rockford, Illinois only two months prior to her disappearance, and was sharing an apartment with her brother. Although she had a cosmetology license in Illinois, she had not gotten such a license in Kansas and was working at a Hardee's restaurant.

On the night she went missing, she called a female friend and her former boyfriend and said she was coming home to Rockford. She told her brother she was going to visit a female coworker from Hardee's. She left without taking any belongings, apparently never arrived at her destination and has never been heard from again. She was last seen near the Hardee's at 41st Street and Main Street at about midnight.

On March 30, 1987, over four months after Salcuka's disappearance, the police in North Kansas City, Missouri stopped a man who was driving her light blue 1974 Mercury Comet. When they realized the car did not belong to him, they impounded it. They questioned the man two times; he reportedly denied any involvement in Salucka's disappearance but was proven to have lied on several occasions in his statements. Investigators also got information that the Illinois State Police stopped another vehicle in January 1987, in Crestwood, Illinois, that had the same license plates that were issued to Salucka's car.

Authorities initially believed that Salucka may have traveled to California to join a musical group. That theory has apparently been disproven, although it is possible Salucka did head to California.

Some agencies may list November 16, 1986 as the date of Salucka's disappearance. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.

So many places she could have ended up. Her car was obviously stolen, but how on earth were her license plates on another vehicle in January (in IL) and then back on hers in March (in MO)?? Something doesn’t add up.

Plates and VIN is different. It doesn't say the first car had the plates. In fact, they pulled him over and THEN realized about the car. So they likely didn't do a plate lookup. My guess is that the Original driver Might have taken the plates off not realizing the car has a VIN NUMBER ATTACHED. Maybe he went to Illinois and sold it...?

For all we know, he was driving without plates or expired insurance. Can't renew or get insurance on a stolen car...

I wonder what happened to her car eventually. I would say if the man who was driving the car wasn't responsible for her disapearence, he may at least had knowledge of it. Usually men who kill women aren't interested in stealing their car too unless that was why she was killed so that makes this case a little? unusual. Unless she was killed by someone and the car was just passed along to someone he knew. It could have been stolen by that man if he just found it too I suppose, but if that was the case it would have been better for that man to just admit he found the car someplace and stole it rather than be a murder suspect, which is far worse. Somehow she was apparently lured out of her car ( maybe by a man pretending to be a police officer pulling her over as sometimes has happened) or a man (presumably) got into it somehow and maybe surprised her unless it broke down or ran out of gas and she was by the side of the road looking for help. There is no evidence of that, though.

I have the impression that the man found with her car did not kill her... maybe he knows what happened to her but he is not the material or intellectual author of the crime... maybe he stole it or they gave it to him as part payment for something ..and the one with the 50/50 license plates because how are they going to put any license plate on a car if he was the owner? Because I imagine he knew they weren't his, there's a reason they're unique, no one else can use them, not even in another car... I think they offered this girl something and she was tempted, she went with them...
either way
rest in peace
