I'm just now seeing the verdict.....Thank you Lord! Justice for beautiful little Rowan.

I don't care much for the defense testimony with this penalty phase. The "life path" witness appears to be setting CC up with an anger management excuse.

IMO, he didn't murder Rowan out of anger but simply because she could identify him as her rapist.

Sorry he had such a hard life. Blah, blah, blah.

The jury has recommended the death penalty for Chris Collings after finding him guilty of first-degree murder earlier this week for the 2007 murder of nine year-old Rowan Ford.

It took the jury about 45 minutes to make the unanimous decision. Under Missouri law, if any juror had been opposed to sentence, the jury would have been forced to sentence Collings to life without parole.

When is Spears trial starting? I can't remember-will have to Google but I think it is within the next couple months. The judge closed the docket to the public so I can't find out anything from there. :maddening:
IMO they can let Ryan Ferguson out of MO DOC and let Spears in!

eta-found this about Spears trial-Spears is scheduled to be tried in November in Waynesville, with jury selection starting in late October in the Kansas City area.

As part of a plea-bargain agreement, Spears will plead guilty to child endangerment and hindering prosecution. He will receive a seven-year sentence on child endangerment charge and a four-year sentence on the hindering prosecution charge."

I find this so disgusting and wrong. Wondering where he will go when he gets out of prison. That is such a very small community and the surrounding towns aren't big enough for him to hide in either, imo.
