The Warren County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding Dana Leigh Mustian, who was reported missing on Dec. 4.

Mustian was last seen on Nov. 30. According to the Sheriff's Office, her father dropped her off at an address on Dorothy Drive in Warren County.

Her sister says the family started to become concerned when Dana never showed up to her daughter’s 6th birthday party that weekend.

There is now a $5,000 cash reward to help find Mustian.

Saturday’s search involved the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, emergency management officials, a volunteer fire department, and a police department, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

“Water searches are being conducted, as well as ground searches and K-9 searches,” the news release said.

Megan Mustian said she and her husband, Dana’s brother, broke down Saturday morning when they heard authorities were again searching for the missing mother.

“It just meant so much that they are putting boots on the ground and doing everything they can to find her,” Megan told WNCN.

As the search continued, on Saturday, authorities and several cadaver teams were deployed to different areas of the county, the sheriff's office said in an update on Facebook. But as of Sunday night, Mustian had not been located, per authorities.

“Warren County, it’s very rural. There’s a lot of fields and trees,” Dana’s brother, who wished to remain anonymous, told WNCN last month. “Without more information to help us narrow down where she might be at, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack."

Mustian was last seen at her Dorothy Drive home in Warrenton, about 10 miles south of the North Carolina-Virginia border, on November 30.

She had been dropped off at home by her father, according to her family. Mustian reportedly told him she loved him and would see him the next day.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons currently shows 1,132 missing persons cases in 2024. It also shows 69 of those cases are active. One of those is Dana Mustian from Warrenton.

“She has been missing for two months and we want to make sure that she’s not going to be pushed to a cold case,” said Megan Mustian.

Mustian’s sister-in-law disappeared in Warren County in November.

“It gets tougher as the days go by,” she said.

Megan says law enforcement and her family have chased many leads and encourage others to pay attention when they see any missing person flyers.

“Honestly, I never really paid attention to amber alerts and missing persons info before this. You just think they will turn up,” she said.

It’s a message law enforcement agencies hope others take seriously.

“Many people don’t like to get involved or like to share information due to fear, but it’s so crucial,” said Sheriff Branche.
