JAMES PANNONI HOMICIDE:

The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Saundra Evon Wagner, 47, of 504 Mattocks Ave. Maysville, NC. Wagner is wanted for the Murder of James Pannoni, who investigators located his body on his property, on April 8, 2019.

Wagner is a 47-year-old, white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is approximately 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighs between 130 and 160 LBS. Wagner has a tattoo of the name “Jason” on her right thigh, she also has a heart-shape tattoo on her right upper chest.

Wagner is believed to be traveling North in a dark Gray colored Toyota Corolla, NC registration plate RZE-5390. She is believed to be in the State of Ohio at this time, possibly near Hebron OH, or Columbus, OH.

This incident appears to be isolated, but Wagner should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Wagner is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 910-455-3113 or Crime Stoppers at 910-938-3273. Please refer to case 2019005158.

She is in custody in AL, awaiting extradition back to NC.

Autopsy results: Hubert man stabbed to death; suspect awaiting extradition

The investigation into Pannoni's death led investigators to suspect Saundra Evon Wagner as the person involved in his death. Officials said the two were involved in a domestic-type relationship in the months prior to Pannoni's death.

Officials wanted to interview Wagner but she fled the area before deputies could locate her. On Saturday, a tip led Dothan, Ala., police to a mall where she was reported to be seen. A vehicle chase ensued and Wagner later crashed her vehicle. She was captured and arrested.


Wagner is scheduled to be extradited back to Onslow County later this week. Officials said they have also established a motive for the crime but are not releasing further information at this time.
