I have been staring at it and looking at pictures of abby, I don't think it is her but I am not entirely sure. The picture just makes me sad, the girl looks so sad *sigh*

I am in NH and quite honestly, I hope and pray that her family never comes here and reads the things some of you have written. you seem to be speculating in a completely different way than people were before this letter was mentioned. no matter if she ran away or not, we are still dealing with a missing 15 year old girl. the state of NH has not given up on her, and has not given up on finding her. in this thread, I have read that people feel that the police are inept, that she should be charged and billed if she ran away, that people feel they have the right to know where the letter was mailed from and what the contents are, that people feel that she is part of a sex ring and possibly on a pornographic video, that people feel that her boyfriend isn't her boyfriend, and the list goes on and on.

first off, why is it thought that her boyfriend isn't her boyfriend? is it due to appearance? secondly, can we please wait to condemn this girl to a life of *advertiser censored* and sex until there is evidence of that? also, if the sighting at the picnic table is real, there is no evidence that she was with a "pimp." also, while it frightens me to think of her on an internet *advertiser censored* site, no one has said that yet. also, they aren't releasing info from the letter for a reason I am sure. if they said where it was mailed from and a bunch of amateur detectives descended on that place, do you really think that she would still be there? no. she would either move herself or be moved. also, imagine living in that town and having a bunch of strangers show up when you have been told by law enforcement to watch for strangers. all this would do is contaminate any evidence there may be.

I honestly don't care how she went missing at this point. we just want our NH girl home. if she ran away then we want her back so that the authorities can deal with whatever was the cause. if she was taken, then we want her back safe so that the people who took her can be put to justice.

I have seen many good things on this forum since I joined, but this thread is not one of them. I see some people really trying hard to stay positive and offering ideas and prayers and I thank you for that. some other comments make me a bit ashamed to be part of this forum. please remember that this is a 15 year old girl that is part of a family, that has friends, that has a boyfriend (yes, she does, I have no doubt of that), and that she is missing. right now the temp in North Conway is 29* and it is just going lower. the average temp in NH is at freezing or below. just thought I'd throw out that FACT. because it's cold here in NH and there is a young girl unaccounted for. please keep that in mind when you make comments.

Yes. I believe it was. I think she was with a pimp (the man) and a "bottom" (the other young girl).

I hope I'm wrong.

will all due respect, I don't think that such a trio is likely to end up in Errol NH. I am very familiar with it. It's not near ANYTHING, it's not on the way to anyplace larger with the possible exception of Montreal. (and I find a border crossing with Abby unlikely). It would be really out of the way for Maine destinations. There isn't even cell phone reception there, it's that isolated.
However, I will admit that LL Cote's is a gun store (among other things), so a perp of a different color might shop there, just not a person looking to exploit for commercial means.

Thank you for joining in turtlepoop, All opinions are welcome. Thankfully, forums like this don't act as thought police to chill free speech.

With all due respect, I disagree with many of your points. I hope her parents, and possibly PI's hired by them, do read here and take notes on the ideas that come about after hours, days and weeks of brainstorming on the part of a bunch of people who care about someone other than themselves. The majority of posters here view Abby as a victim, whether she ran away or was abducted and whether she is forced or manipulated into a sex ring, is held hostage by a sick perp in the woods, or is hiding in a friend's vacation home to piss people off. There's a reason for all of this and most likely, it isn't Abby's fault. I find most posters on this site to have an incredible amount of empathy.

It's silly to imply the public should look for Abby in grocery stores and churches if the authorities are concerned about sexual exploitation. Did you watch the press conference? They are! LE needs to be forthcoming with enough information to allow the public to actually help, if that's, indeed, what they want.

Have you looked at the missing persons stats lately? The status quo... how's that working out for missing persons, including Abby?

I think everyone on this site wants to help find Abby and bring her home. Hope and prayers are wishful thinking unless backed up by actions. Posters here call tips into LE all of the time. Please don't shame people away from putting their heads together, sharing their collective knowledge and potentially coming up with new leads to bring Abby home.

Warm regards,
Little Rose

Turtle pop, I have quoted your post below. I just want to tell you that no one here is blaming Abigail or saying anything out of disrespect to her, her boyfriend, her mom, her neighbors, etc. but this is NOT a sympathy and prayers forum, we try and brainstorm here to come up with an idea of how she went missing, which may lead to locating where she may be now. And everything is on the table. After following many cases, many if us come to realize that information that is given to the public is often incorrect, intentionally wrong or misleading. So we ponder what if, as in what if some piece in the jigsaw puzzle is in the wrong place, or from a different puzzle? What changes when you toss out one fact and re-examine everything without it? Etc.
Imagining Abigail's fate is painful. And we do realize it is not for everyone. There is often a support thread to be found in a different place, so if family or friends find this thread too painful, they can go there instead. But sugar coating the possibilities of what fate has befallen Abigail is highly unlikely to lead to her return, and I doubt very much if LE refuses to consider the sex trad because it is offensive.
WS can seem intrusive and insensitive, even to me and I participate here. But I do remind myself that we are all heartsick over the cases here, and our motives are not lurid and tabloid-y, they are out if concern and a passion to find justice in this world.
Jmo.

Abby's right eyebrow doesn't seem to have that higher arch seen in the pic of this girl taken from the video. Maybe have to look though other pics to see if her's ever looked like that.

The eyebrows look different. The hair is parted on the different side...don't know if the pic was flipped. For me, it's difficult to switch side parts.

I do not feel the image being discussed resembles abby in any way other than a similar hair color. the facial features particularly the shape and size of the brows are different.

As to the letter

The letter from Abigail Hernandez, 15, was postmarked on Oct. 23 and received on Nov. 6, according to the FBI and New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

Young described the delay in delivery as not alarming and explained it could be because the letter was sent to a PO Box.

While it is not specified that the delay in delivery was actually a delay in receipt by her mother it is implied IMO

Thank you for addressing some of the same thoughts I've had about the nature of some of the specualtion, it's very hard to read these things in reference to a 15 year old girl (esp. if, like myself, have daughters who were once that age). I know folks are just trying to be helpful but like someone else said, the internet never forgets and no family should have to read such things when it's their own daughter out there.

Hope I haven't crossed any lines with this post, if so mods, feel free to amend or delete, I just want Abby safe and at home as soon as possible.

"Both Wagner and Young said at the news conference that officials had recently received some new information that they were surprised they hadn’t received before. They did not say what that information was."

IMO, this new information that they were surprised they hadn't been told earlier has nothing to do with the letter.

I agree Hejlena. It's gotta be something else.

As for the picture, it resembles the one of her in the car that she took herself. But I don't think it's her.

@ turtlepoop. My responses about not really being her boyfriend was a point made about rumors. If you have studied this case like many of us have, there were posts on Facebook made saying he was in fact, not her boyfriend. Is this true? I don't know. We are taking facts alone to try to find out what happened to this poor girl. When facts from MSM turn to fiction, no one knows what to believe anymore and everything is second guessed. I personally feel any person who thinks of a scenario that could be possible should mention it. It might lead to finding this girl, whether you like the scenarios or not.

Hi all, just coming to this story after seeing the news about the letter on Yahoo. What scares me is that while the impressn I get is that they believe she left on her own there doesn't seem to be the message from her parents or LE that she doesn't need to worry about being in trouble if she comes home. That to me underscores that they don't believe she can come home even if she wanted to.

I'm so scared for this young girl. I just watched a Lisa Ling doc about sex trafficking on OWN. it was difficult to watch, but dispelled some of the myths that are out there when it comes to this issue.

A carny rat? Lol!

I can't see Abby dropping her standards that low, especially if she was following her dreams. What 14yo dreams of that kind of life?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh I think many young girls think those carney guys are quite cool. Especially one of the tender age of 14 who looks like 17 and is having trouble at home.

I tried to find some statistics on girls that run away with somebody like that but no luck so JMHO!

Regarding speculation that she is in a sex ring or doing *advertiser censored*, etc. none of us are saying she ran away with the purpose of doing it. We are saying a perp could've possibly lured her away and forced her into it.

Where would we get this wild notion? The press conference LE gave.

I do hope her family and anyone else stops in and reads it. Maybe they already do. I think every angle needs to be examined. If we ignored the unbearable scenarios, then what's the point of discussing? None of us want her to be sexually exploited. I don't think we are being disrespectful by saying it's possible. It happens all the time to young women.

Thanks.

The "how" she went missing is an integral part to concluding the "WHERE" she may be. Your speculation to fact is no different than our speculations. Yes. I'm going to bat for those who've been active in this thread. I take umbrage to the "amateur detective" statement. There are some posters here that have as much, or more experience in investigations than those investigators on this case. Most people here have dedicated hours upon hours doing anything they can do to do their part in helping, and have provided undying support to/for AH, her family, and everybody involved in this case. Most feel they have a strong personal attachment to this case. Some are local residents. Some, including myself, have daughters of their own. Some have teens. Others are simply emoting through natural human nature, compassion, and inherent parental instinct. Don't take our discussions for ANYTHING other than our daily thoughts, prayers (for those who believe), and any contributions we can make in bringing Abigail home!

IMO not even close. I've looked at so many pictures of her from every angle and expression available to us. This girl has a longer space between the nose and top lip, smaller mouth...
