On the evening of April 21, 2024, the Union Police Department was contacted by a concerned family member of 60 year old Rousier Romain of Orange, NJ, who had not returned home from his shift at the Whole Foods Market, located at 2245 Springfield Ave, Vauxhall, NJ.
Further investigation revealed Romain left abruptly from Whole Foods at approximately 3:40 PM and was last seen on foot in the parking lot near the fence along the edge of I-78, which is directly adjacent to the property.
Romain’s vehicle was found parked in the lot and his cell phone is currently turned off.
The family is particularly concerned because Romain suffers from several medical conditions which require medication.
A comprehensive search of the area was performed by members of the Union Police Department with assistance from the K-9 unit from the Union County Sheriff’s Office with negative results.
Additionally, a drone flyover was conducted and the New Jersey State Police, transit authorities and local hospitals were notified.
The case is currently being investigated by Det. Odete Mirao of The Union Police Department and anyone with any information regarding Romain or his current whereabouts is urged to contact her at (908) 851-5000 or OMirao@uniontownship.com.
