South Brunswick Girl, 16, Gone Since Friday. South Brunswick - Searchers have failed to locate a 16-year-old girl missing since she took her dog for a walk at 4 p.m. Friday. Susan Sunday's dog returned home alone after Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sunday of 118 New Road notified police at 7:15 p.m. Friday that their daughter was missing, Detective Eugene McCarthy Said. Searching began early Saturday with two bloodhounds supplied by the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, according to Sgt. Charles Larsen. Searches have been confined to a heavily wooded area near the girls home where she routinely walked the dog, McCarthy said. Larsen described the "couple of square miles area" as lying east of Kendall Park to Route 1, and north of New Road to Sandhill Road. The two policemen, with Lt. Robert Simmons, have coordinated the searches. About 65 men conducted a sweep of the wooded area from mid-after-noon yesterday - until after dark. The searchers were from Kendall Park and Monmouth Junction fire companies and first aid squads and local police department personnel, Larsen said. He also reported mat Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad scuba divers checked a nearby pond. Only Spot Searches are planned now, McCarthy said. He urged that anyone with information about the girl contact the police department. McCarthy said Miss Sunday was last Seen wearing a dungaree work shirt over an orange-and-blue striped blouse, dungarees, and boy’s white sneakers. A sophomore at South Brunswick High School, the girl is known as a 'very stable young lady with no physical disabilities, Larsen Said. He added that there is "no evidence of foul play" in the case.
