NJ - William McGuire, 39, found dismembered in Chesapeake Bay, 2004

Did anyone see yesterday that Melanie McGuire's attorneys have presented evidence that her husband was indebted to the mob to the tune of $90gs?

I think it was on CNN. I will go try to find an article.
It turned out to be bogus. Melanie murdered her husband, plain and simple.

48 HOURS tonight (Sat) basically just started and it's about this case. They gave her a video camera to keep a video diary during the trial. The show started late because of the football games. This is about 10:55 p.m. e.s.t.

She looks like such a liar to me!

Yeah I saw it, she is definetly guilty to me.
And her story about moving the car was ludicrous.
She went to AC looking for him, somehow miraclulously finds his car, then moves it to mess with him and then goes home. C'mon. :waitasec:

Could Melanie have killed and used the saw or some other tool at her work. Was the clinic ever tested for forensic?

I've seen all the tv shows about this case and finally saw an actual interview with Melanie the other night. Boy, is she a smooth talker. She's very pretty when she smiles, and seems so intelligent, but all the evidence pointed to her unfortunately.

I agree, the act does not match the individual but I guess that was what she was banking on. To actually dismember him ... Pretty cold and calculating. The blanket from her clinic clinched it for me.

Just remember the great Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle): "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"

i watched the special today on tru tv,

I just cant see her doing this.

I believe they think she did it in the shower and drop cloths were used. The blood was supposedly drained and the reciprocating saw only used to cut the bones. It was said that the cuts above the knee showed that the body was sitting with the knees bent and the saw went straight down somehow making it easier. It was mentioned that she probably shot him that night using a green pillow similar to the ones on her couch because a piece of green fiber was found in the suitcase. They think she cut him up the next day while neighbors were all gone to work. The lady who came to buy the entertainment center said the bathroom smelled like a morgue from chemical cleaning smells. I think Melanie could lift the suitcase with the torso without too much trouble. Maybe she even rigged something to help her but I wonder when she would have done it without being seen by someone.

Awesome post!! I agree she could have done this all by herself, just because she is small doesn't mean she is not strong. I am not a large woman, and I can tell you my husband is amazed at things I can move myself around the house....where there's a will there's a way to get it done. She could have given the children something to knock them out cold for the night so they heard nothing, drag the husband in the bath room shot him, let the blood drain, wrapped his head up with a blanket and trash bag, pulled him back to the bedroom, sent the kids to school and she is back to the bathroom and to finished him up.

You can't see her doing this? Remember..."LOOKS" can be very deceiving. I followed this case through the trial and verdict. No doubt in my mind that she did it.

The question of the luggage. If it was not their's, she should be able to produce their set. Right?

And same with the gun. She does not know where the gun is? I don't know anyone, especially with kids, who does not know the exact location of any and every gun they own. For safety and liability purposes.

And I agree--looks can be deceiving on my accounts as Gypsy and JulieR have said. I too am also petite, and I can carry a great deal of weight and move furniture on my own. I am like a pack mule. And when I have adrenaline coursing through me, I can move anything.

I was pointed to this case in regards to the current investigation into Debbie Bradley. An earlier case of Tacopina's.

I've only spent 20 minutes on it, but IMO she had an accompice - Dr. Bradley, who wrote the prescription for the poison, who worked at the same clinic where the blanket was from that wrapped the body parts, and who bought a saw prior to the crime. Hello? Women poison their victims, rarely do they dismember them. That is a man's work here. Dr. Bradley is the obvious co-hort here, as he had an obvious motive as her lover; I'm not sure how this got missed??? He probably picked her up when she dropped off her husband's car at the casino as well.

I totally agree. He got off scott free and testified against her. It has always chapped me that he was not charged.

I followed this case very closely (on another board) and there was a lot of discussion that perhaps her father (or step-father, can't remember) was the accomplice. She certainly couldn't have done all of it alone.

That was a crazy case.

I watched this trial, and I really dislike Tacopina, but Melanie is still guilty of the murder of her kids father. She's not going anywhere IMO
