I am pretty sure it can be posted any day...but hope I am wrong. I think bail bondsmen are 24 hours a day.

I still can't believe that he even has bail, much less so low. He only has to come up with $150k. That seems very wrong. He is charged with murder, how much worse does it get?

I find it hard to wrap my head around it too, in England where I'm from bail is rarely given in murder cases at all. At least he'll be aware that he has everything to lose if he causes any sort of trouble when he is released though...

I have a question about the bail - The Daily Star says:

Cash bail of $150,000 and a real estate bail of $300,000 was set by County Judge Frank Revoir. A grand jury hearing is expected to be held next week.
http://thedailystar.com/breakingnews/x730880962/Ganesh-Remy-Ramsaran-arrested

And News Channel 9 Says:

He is being held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond.

So does he need both or only one of the above??????????

How much vindication you must feel and how much relief at the same time. You've sacrificed alot to see justice happen along with many others, but I hope you can finally have some measure of peace after the arrest today.

Totally, 100% worth the roadblocks <Mod Snip> Ganesh Ramsaran put up.

This day has finally come, and I'm as elated right now as I was 6 hours ago.

Happy that he was arrested, but sad that the kids experienced yet another loss.

But they are safe and away from this monster finally.

I can say this with 100% accuracy (but don't ask me how I know this): WS has been very helpful in this case.

You guys are the best!

I'm glad to see you here, Jillian, I've been worried for you at times. Is it greedy of me to hope that maybe other charges might come about in time..? Maybe to do with intimidation or harassment?

Pretty sure only one of the above. And if you break it down further, he only needs to give a bail bondsman 10 percent of the 150K, i believe. So for 15K, he can be bailed out. Scary.

Thanks Piper - but my question was more about one of the reports (DS) seemed to say he needs both items to get bail - and the other said either or, as if he only needs one.

One says 'and' and the other says 'or'

I just wanted to know which is correct - does he need both or does he only need one.

I hope there are strict bail conditions, and watchful eyes will be kept peeled for any transgressions.

Hopefully it's both as I don't think he will have enough equity to get a $300k bond

Again, I beleive its just one.....150k cash bond or 300k property bond. He might not have the equity, but I bet others in his family do.

I didn't have access to the entire Evening Sun articles, so please let me know if there's some new info that I missed.

I'm not adding the arrest links to the links in signature -- will start new batch shortly, and put them in under "part 2"

I wonder how much of a flight risk Ganesh is? He was born outside of the US - in Suriname I believe? But then lived in the Netherlands for a long time. There'd be no point fleeing to the Netherlands for sure.

I suspect he will be confident he will easily convince any jury he is completely innocent. I was even hoping he might be arrogant enough to decide to represent himself, but that's too much to hope for. Does anyone have any news on who the lawyer Ganesh said he would never hire actually is?

If he flees to Surinam, I've got contacts down there -- we'll send the Wayana Indians after him with their poisoned arrows!

Questions :waitasec:

1) Who is GR's lawyer?

2) Who will preside over the Thursday May 23 appearance at Town of New Berlin Court? Is there a separate judge for town court from county court?

3) Is the May 23 appearance the Grand Jury appearance? How does that work in NY state?

4) Can bail be increased at the May 23 appearance? Or, can bail be denied?

5) How would the LE know that Jennifer died the same day she disappeared?

6) Where's the dog?

While my heart is full of joy that he has been arrested, I feel so desperately for the children. :(

All of you here deserve the hugest praise for keeping Jen's name out there and never giving up. I love this place.:blowkiss:

I think the dog has died Abigail........or don't tell me the poor thing disappeared too?

I'm no expert, but it is possible to ascertain a time of death to within hours. But never usually with a person left outside for so long. That's why I believe the snow must have worked a small miracle for Jennifer. Unless LE has some other kind of evidence. I can't think what it would be though.

Just saw on our local news he was arrested

You all did a wonderful thing for Jennifer

It was only a matter of time

Today I will plant some flowers in Jennifer's honor & for her children!

Justice is coming Jennifer

The dog was alive and well in January -- he featured in at least one of the videos -- looking out the door. (He did better at missing Jennifer than GR)

Generally, time of death is ascertained by liver temperature, lividity, rigor mortis, purge fluid, etc. With the weather conditions, her body may have frozen pretty quickly, which would have preserved a lot of evidence, and then the snow would maintain the body at a constant temperature -- so no doubt there was a lot of physical evidence to assist with the evidence (thank God she was found when she was!!!). But...I think they may be able to tell if she died there, or if she died somewhere else and was moved there, but how would they know the precise day on which she died? That long after? There must be some amazing forensic work at play here.

It makes me wonder if there was a witness or an accomplice who has shared what they knew (just thinking of your comment made the day before the arrest (first person to the DA wins).

Perhaps some of this will be revealed at the Grand Jury?
