Found Safe NY - Travis, 25, Deanna, 24, & Cooper Reynolds, 19 mos, Utica, 5 Feb 2018

As someone who has found it necessary to cut contact with relatives for my own family's safety/wellbeing, the way this played out on social media greatly disturbed me. I have no idea what the case may be here, but I guess it had never occurred to me before the way that social media could be harnessed to locate someone who does not want to be found for legitimate reasons. It's quite scary. Hopefully the police shed more light on the situation.

It's such a tough call. Just in my local area alone in recent years we have had missing person cases where:

1. Runaway situation involving young minors ... need to be found.
2. MIA adult but in need of medication and may be confused.
3. MIA depressed adult (found deceased in remote area in car, and another found alive and wandering).
4. MIA adult found deceased or incapacitated due to car injury.
5. Foul play cases where kidnapping, abduction, etc. at fault.
6. MIA murder/suicide involving entire family.

I completely see what you are saying (although I missed the drama when posts in question were viewable). But I guess there are times when social media is great in situations where time is of essence and cases where it is invasive like you mentioned. Tough call!

It is a tough call. I am from the area, and it took some time for law enforcement to acknowledge they were involved, or for the news to pick it up. At no point did law enforcement ask for the public’s help. We get alerts for missing vulnerable adults, missing young people, etc. I saw people sharing the father’s post and was scratching my head because no other source had it at that point.

I'm glad they were found safe. I am curious about where they were going.

My question today was did they take their luggage with them when they left for "lunch". But I'm glad they have been found. If he was awol, he's probably not glad he was found.

My guess is her family didn't approve of the awol and therefore filed the MP report.

My guess/speculation only.

I guess they weren't looking for him! Only her and the baby, since that was their concern. I would probably do the same thing. My daughter and grandchild won't be dragged around because you are hiding out. Nope.

Exactly. But now he will be punished and possibly dishonorably discharged...wife and child will suffer, sadly.

Good Evening Everyone,

Please note that anyone who starts anything that is remotely, even slightly, the least bit political will be timed out or banned.

Thank you,
Tricia
